Okay so this is the situation. I saw a toolbox, don't remember where, or what site, but this is the dilemma. Looking for it for many hours , looked at google images, Pinterest tried e Bay but can't find it. It was very expensive even more than a Snap-on. It was a rather basic size but it had bumpers easily adjustable shelves on the side for spray cans or paper holder also quickly adjustable handle on the opposite side. Easily expandable and had a system similar to the 80/20 tracks. I was very impressed with the build although was taken by surprise on the price. I am thinking of building one similar and looking for ideas. Any help will be appreciated.

Sounds like you're describing SONIC TOOLS boxes and workstations. I was eyeballing their tool kits on Amazon the other day and spent a some time drooling at their website.

I would like to thank anyone that took the time to read my post. But I must say that yesterday after countless hours scouring the internet, I woke up this morning with a few tool companies names and low and behold found what I was looking for. Here is the link
. Please view and let me know what you think. In your opinion Is it worth the money they are asking? I personally like it but don't think it is worth the money I remember seeing published at the time.

My first thought was, "man, whoever designed this Proto cart must've read the GJ thread on upgrading the HF 5 drawer cart." I like how deep the top area looks and can't decide if having full width drawers all the way down would work better for me or not, but I am stealing their idea of putting a universal rail system on the corners for my HF cart.

That thing is pretty sweet. Without looking up the price though, I'm inclined to agree that it doesn't seem to feature anything that wouldn't be fairly simple to do yourself. I really like the pull-out option for the lower shelf. I can say from experience that doing similar to the HF 5 drawer will kill a lot of its rigidity and isn't a good idea.

I agree the price is out there but let me explain why I was searching it yesterday. I forgot exactly what options they offered so wanted to refresh my memory and most importantly wanted to save the pics to my computer so that in the near future I can refer to the pics and take it from there. And most important try to improve on the present ideas. NOW to find affordable 80/20 tracks to stock up on. I hope my fellow GJers don't believe (thrifty as I am ) would spend close to 2000 dollars for this box.

Mac sells the same carts, cheaper than Proto. The flip top is a MB188UC and the MB199UC is the sliding top. They also sell the mounting rail kit separately.

Nice carts, made in the USA with a lot of features in them.

I'm digging the slide out bottom shelf. While I agree that it is expensive, I still see boxes on here daily that cost more than I bought my truck for, and if you have looked at truck prices, that aint cheap. I see a niche market for them. They would work great for industrial techs, work stations, even aeronautics. I wonder what the buy in price is, not retail?
