I own an apartment building and am pretty sure there is drug activity taking place in the parking area in the back...not to mention someone is vandalizing also

I would like to place some sort of wireless, battery powered maybe? camera in a tree or something viewing the parking area so I can see what and who is doing all this ****....easiest and cheapest solution

I need recommendations on a camera for this application....need something small I can attach quickly to a tree or something and not be obvious, any ideas???

They have wireless surveillance cameras, but they also have camoflaged big game cameras that just take still pictures when motion is present.

Most cordless ones are still only and are triggered by movement.

You might be able to find a video camera that runs on low voltage DC and then hook up some Li-Ion cells to power it, but you will be replacing the battery pack every day two. If you have the space, a pair of 6V golf cart batteries will last a long time.

Ring stick up cams work great. Wifi, battery and will do motion as well as live streaming. We have a lot of them as do clients. The battery can last months depending on environmentals and how much you live view. They offer a solar panel to keep the batteries charged...they work great.

Arlo requires a separate, wired AP for the cameras. Blink has poor IR instead using a tiny, built-in LED light for night viewing which will defeat the purpose the OP is trying to use these for.

Another for Arlo and also Lorex. They also make came cameras that do video, but the durations are short. On the order of 20 seconds.

What do you mean by "wired AP"? Our Arlo's are all wireless battery powered wifi similar to the Ring you mentioned earlier. Battery life is great.

The Arlo outdoor cams require a base station, which is wired and separate from a wifi router/AP, to attach to a network. The cameras sync to the base which then sends data to the network. It's a bit clumsy when compared to other systems.

Ahhh yes, you are correct. Forgot about that!

Didn't realize the others worked without that and i can see how it would be "clumsier"

Ya, not a big deal, but enough of an issue for me to not consider the Arlo Pro when I'm building out for myself or clients.
