Curved adj wrench

Got this curvy wrench basically free. Says westcott, the keystone mfg co., and buffalo ny. Any ideas on the age of this thing?

Alloy Artifacts does not have much information on them, but they do say that the ones made by Keystone were from about 1900 onward.

I think those were commonly used on locomotives up to the 40s and 50s. I have always thought they were cool and have been keeping my eye out for onein the wild. Good find

I have one of those (and another one like it but so rusty markings not identifiable)
This one arrived on the farm here some time before 1936 as part of the tool kit of a 'Standard Fordson' model N tractor, or possibly a model F.
It says 'FORDSON THE KEYSTONE MFG CO' on one side
and 'BUFFALO NY USA 10 INCH NO 80. ' on the other

They could have been used on a locomotive just the same as any other wrench could have been used on one.

Not designed special for locomotive use.

Oooh I gotta say, those look almost identical to the ones made by Erie tool works.

I've got a 6"er I believe. Kinda nice for undoing fittings tight against the wall, as the curved handle gives you the space to get you hand around it.

I have a couple of Bemis & Call wall hangers. The rusty one we inherited from Grandpa Al who had it hanging on the garage wall for who knows how long. I took it down when we painted the house but put it back up immediately after the paint dried.
This welded one is hanging on an interior wall of the garage

I posted this in the garage sale thread a couple of years ago.

“Our friend Paula who is married to our lifelong friend Len does artwork. They have accompanied us on our estate sale jaunts in the past so she is aware of my old tool fetish. They are living in New York now and she recently sent me a card for my birthday with a curved handle B&C adjustable that she drew. The wrench looked similar to the one that Grandpa Al hung on the side of our garage decades ago as yard art. I never removed it because I liked it too. Sure enough it is a rusty B&C adjustable very similar to Paula’s drawing.

For what it's worth, the last advertisement I can find for a Westcott wrench is in the June 30, 1927 Hardware Age. (They're mentioned under S wrenches up until 1959, but I'm not sure how much of a going concern they were.)
