I bent over 100 hoops out of 1/2 inch solid hot roll steel on a jig I built. My arms are so damn sore today!
These are for another section of our wrought iron fence.

I wish I could say i've only been working on it for a day, but I've been cleaning out the old tool boxes and finally organizing all those sockets, wrenches, and screwdrivers since I keep coming across duplicates. Getting rid of the all the unnecessary items that have just been collecting dust. Can we say New Years Resolution?

Trying to re-organize my toolbox... I don't know why the HF socket organizers have little hangers on the end since they come in a box and it's not like you could ever hang them unless you wern't using them... Anyhow since they were preventing me from locating them flush against the side of my toolbox I took a saw and cut them all off! Totally re-organized my drawers with sockets & ratchets / accessories...

Next I pulled out all my wood chisels & files... Scratching my head on how best to organize all those... I also need to re-locate my cold-chisels probably and see if I can't store in the same drawer...

I washed my car, and pulled it into the garage to dry it. The hood refused to unlatch. Since I was hungry and had a headache, I decided to avoid getting pissed off, and to leave troubleshooting it until tomorrow.

I'll drive the truck to work tomorrow instead. It is supposed to rain anyway.

Built a 2x4 Basic Workbench. I needed a quick fix for temp storage of a disassembled 2005 Kawasaki Concours. Bench is 30"x 8', 1/2' plywood top and bottom shelf, no middle shelf.

New age cabnets delivered and unpacked today. 2 cabinets coming on another shipment. These cabinets are really well but and came without any damage. The one corner cabinet I need to start installing these didn’t make it, so all I can do is wait.

Monday January 8th must have been New Age day. My overhead cabinets also arrived on the 8th and I installed them that evening.

Glad to hear yours arrived safe and sound as well. Great looking setup.

First real use of my garage. Put the tracks back on for the winter season. Bring on the snow!

I found my number 6, 7 and number 8 retractable cord units on Craigslist yesterday and today. I like to use these retractable cord units to hide the power cords on some less often used shop machines. I have a Franz Kuhlmann pantograph engraving machine I am rewiring and it will get a retractable cord.
I hard-wire the short end into the machine and a male plug goes on the retractable cord.
Two of these retractables are SnapOn. The SnapOn units are identical to the white units. They are all made in CANADA.
The maximum I have paid is $20 each.
I am mindful of the retractable unit's maximum amperage.
Is 8 enough? I cannot say no to a good deal.

Changed the oil in my truck, checked fluids, cleaned air filter and rad and got a set of rear Timbren SES springs installed. Drove it a bit after, the SES kit makes it a lot nicer with my tools and gear loaded up. This weekend I get to see how they help when towing. I have to take a load of cones, mini ex and some pipe and valves out to a job.

Not my garage, the school's. Yesterday was the FIRST Robotics Competition kick-off so the team received the new challenge and I picked up the kit of parts with a student. Then, with a couple of other kits I did inventory of the parts received, we learned a bit about nomenclature and we even had to do some technical translations. Oh ya, we ate pizza....again :)

I mentor a team too. I'm looking over a list of stuff they gave me to TIG weld for them already right now :D

Switched to Milton V type fittings that lock open for easy on/off connections.

Also, the other day got a Harbor Freight compressor and opened the filter and found the "new" filter was never even manufactured correctly which lets unfiltered air in from the get go.

Luckily, I switched to a silenced filter for $14 so a no brainer.

I don't know about you folks out in the East, but winter hit those of us in Ontario over a month ago! :eyecrazy:

Oh well, we are on day two of two days of thaw now, with more cold temps and wintery white sh*t due in Tomorrow through the weekend I'm pretty sure. Back to plowing I guess.

Washed my truck yesterday afternoon... Was almost 60F amazingly (but very windy)... Temp today is starting out at 55F but supposed to drop all day long until eventually single digits!

Last night I completed the fluorescent to LED conversion on the inside of our coach. I came up about 6' short on the strip LED's from when I started this conversion about a month ago and the other roll just showed up yesterday. I only had two small lights to go, both under the galley cabinets over the countertop. My motorhome fluorescent to LED conversion is now complete and marked crossed off the white board.

I then turned my attention to finishing up the LED light installation under my New Age Pro 3.0 cabinets that I had installed above my work benches a few nights earlier. I installed the lights last night but wanted to mount the switches on the wall next to the work benches so they would be within easy reach. Not a big project, just had to use some 1" thin wall square tubing and cut out a recess for the switch button to protrude through then welded a small tab in order to screw the mount to the wall and hold the switch in place. Luckily the new 48" LED lights came with white wiring and switches so I was able to just route them along the wall to the outlet and being white actually blended in with the wall nicely and don't stand out like a sore thumb.

Cleaned the chimney since it was pretty nice temperature wise and brought in some fire wood to fill the rack. Luckily as I finished that, it started to rain. While it's warm, I am in the process of doing a few loads of laundry with the O/H cracked.

Finished up more of my interior wall covering. Put together half of my new age cabinets. Moved some stuff from the house into the garage. Cleaned up some of my tools and my tool chest. Drank a beer, vacuumed up all the saw dust. Have a huge pile of cardboard and scrap wood to take to the dump. Those new age cabinets sure have a lot of packaging.

I stopped for a pee on my way out to a disappointing meet-up with BS Craigslist seller. What he was selling did not match his description. He thought I was trying to get a better deal. I did not want his misrepresented junk. I walked.
Traffic was very heavy and there was a monsoon with restricted visibility.

Assembled the paint booth in my garage in prep for painting my project bike tomorrow. Adding the plastic, taping it to the frame and itself, sealed it well, and made the frame stiff.

Still a little more to do.

The two fans, one pushing one pulling, create a small air flow that should help. No worries on the fumes, I have the right gear, and the paint is low VOC.

We moved to a new home last year and have been renovating since. I am finally starting to get the garage in order and put up some pegboard last weekend. I have less available wall space in the new garage so I had to take it around the corner and along the back by the air handler for some extra space. Made a battery station in the back. 48" would have cut about 1/3 of the way past the top of two outlets so I extended it past them and brought them forward. Looks a lot cleaner that way. It's a little cluttered right now until I figure out what else has to go up and then I'll start moving stuff around. I still have another piece of board to put up on another wall so I can get the rest of the cordless tools up and off the workbench. It ain't a work of art, but it works.

What products and tools did you utilize? Professional appearance

Thanks. It’s a process. I first pre clean the headlights and mask off the edge of the lens to protect the paint and any chrome trim. I then wet sand using different grades of sandpaper depending on the lens I’m working on at the time. On these I used 1500 and 3000. Next I use a polishing machine and pad along with Meguiars compound and then polish. After cleaning off all polish residue, I apply a protective coating. This job took approximately 1 1/2 hours.

Got more pieces bolted on towards finishing my diy transmission rebuild, while trying out the awesome home brew led work lights my electrician friend gifted me.

ZMOTORSPORTS, can you post pics of the LED lighting you used under your new age cabinets? I have some 13' ceilings and sometimes I just need some task lighting on my counters that the high LED lights don't provide. Thanks. I also own a 36' diesel pusher but I'm envious of yours !!!

Jim, great job on the make-shift paint booth. Looking forward to the bike being reassembled.

Keep the pics coming bud.
