Have any of you noticed (recently or ever) clearance pricing on the website not dropping as fast as the in-store price? I found a few items recently that were marked down in-store but the reduced price is not reflected on the website. I confirmed the in-store tag by having it rung up at the register, so it's not just an incorrect price tag in-store.

It's definitely not real-time. I purchased a few Christmas gifts and several of them showed out of stock, but had arrived in the store earlier that day. Clearance prices on a few things recently have been different in the store, though I notice they are more and more removing items from the website once they are on clearance.

I can understand why stock counts could be off in-store vs. website. But clearance pricing being different is new to me. I also noticed that the store may be receiving warehouse stock once an item goes on clearance; I have been watching an item that the store only has a quantity of 1 (both on the shelf, on the website, and the internal stock system), but then saw a shopping cart in the tool area where they appeared to be unloading new merchandise, and another 3 were in there. Weird.

That's why I passed. The ones I have were 2900 and these all around 1600. I went in and looked at them and they were exactly what I want but only 1/2 the lumens.

I bought 6 x 10 packs of Sylvania LEDs for $30 each box. I bought one box first and took them to the shop to compare against my fluorescent T8 bulbs. Fluorescent bulbs are Phillips F32T8/TL741 700 Series 32 WATT, Alto Collection.
From what I can tell by Googling, the Phillips fluorescent bulbs are rated at 2600 Lumens.
The Sylvania LEDs are rated at 1650 Lumens. I see no difference in the light emitted by the LEDs, other than the light is a bit bluer, or whiter. Certainly the brightness is comparable.
And, to top it off, they will last 50,000 hours. It says so on the box. 5.7 years. I'm glad these will last longer than the bulbs in the house that are supposed to last for 5 years and have to be replaced every few months...:lol_hitti

I was actually looking for the Sylvania LEDs listed in post 17. My local Lowes was supposed to have 23 in stock. Nowhere to be found. But they had these in a clearance isle. I asked a Lowes employee to help me find the aforementioned bulbs. Couldn't, so he asked me if I would buy the 10 pack that was listed at $76.48, was $89.98 for $30. He said I could return them if I didn't like them. So I bought a 10 pack. Liked them and went back and bought the rest that they had.
Don't take my word for it. Do your own test. I think you will find that what has been mentioned in previous posts that LEDs that are listed as almost half of the Lumens as fluorescents will definitely put out comparable light. :)

So the Sylvania's are good. The conversation was mostly about the Utilitech bulbs, which from my experience are no where near as bright as 2900 lumen GE fluorescents.

Just got back from Lowes and as " It's Friday " would say, it was a good day. $2.40 for the Skydrop sprinkler cover. $1.36 PVC crown moulding. $3.36 for replacement canopy top. Bissell mop head .72 cents and the best one, Delta Venetian Bronze 1-Handle Bathtub and Shower Faucet with Valve $5.86

Gotcha, I didn't notice that the conversation was mostly about Utilitech LEDs. I was thinking it was about LEDs in general.

Thanks for the post. I was interested in any LED that was at least as bright as a fluorescent. That these were on clearance is what peaked my interest. I hope they last longer than the LED bulbs in my house.

I tried some of the utilitech "hybrid" bulbs (the $3.99 ones) and they seem to be pretty nice. The specs claim 18w draw but my meter says 16-17 (usually 16) when the ballast is bypassed.

They diffuse the light very well and subjectively appear to be brighter than real T8s.

ETA: Like most lowes store brand stuff they are made by another company, in this case Yankon (which seems to be a pretty real company: https://www.google.com/search?q=SHA...29HYAhXh44MKHWG8BWQQsRUIfDAN&biw=1280&bih=649

Home Depot has a 10 pack of Phillips T8 LEDS for $50. 4000K Thats their regular price. Seem comparable in price & spec to the Sylvanias

I swapped one of my old 40 w tubes for the Utilitech during the recent cold spell. It didn’t seem bright that day at 5 degrees, but it was pretty sunny. Yesterday I was out in the shop at 40 degrees and it seems twice as bright as the fluorescents.

Not sure it's a good deal compared to the others in this thread, but I recently picked up the Hitachi 10" compound sliding miter saw for $320 plus I found a $40 off $200 coupon online which brought it down to $280. Amazing saw for that price!

My local Lowes (Merrillville, IN) has the Stanley FatMax black long nose locking pliers at .90 cents ea. They show 2 but of course they aren't out there... Previously they were $2.60 ea. Might be worth looking near you for them. (Seen them as high as $12)

$2.60 is a great price, still. they look extremely similar to these, of which i own a pair and really like.

Kobalt Aluminum Mid-Size Truck Tool Box 209694
dropped again. Down from 249.00 to $17.52. Just dawned on me, most of the other stores that have this in stock are showing. 175.20. I placed an online order for the store showing 17.52 (waiting for pickup) Is it possible they omitted the last 0 in the price? My confirmation does show 17.52...guess we'll see.

Well 4 hours later I get the "we don't have it cancellation phone call"
Went to the store today and had the Mgr. do a history check. Sure as sh'*t
it was sold after I got the cancellation. Told her I believe an employee bought it. She agreed that it looked fishy. Only the top store mgr. can access employee purchases. got a feeling someone's in trouble.
Personally if an employee finds a great deal, more power to them. But,don't steal from a customer.

So what are they doing to make it right?

So, they’re getting you one from another store, or comparable one from their store for the same price, right?

Is it common for Lowe's to not offer an Ebates rebate during the 11% sales? I just placed a couple of orders, and couldn't get Ebates to work.

Can't believe a manager would give out that info and why would you go in and ask after being cancelled? It's not like they are going to magically find another one.

Regardless it is not yours until you pick it up... there is nothing they need to do to "make it right". Hopefully people are learning not to do in store pickup for clearance items.

Say the purchaser was in the store and physically saw the item, then went home & ordered, then got a call saying they didn't have it. Yep, small chance it was sold in that window of time driving home, but what if it wasn't? Say that Lowe's has an employee that regularly cancels orders and buy them for themself.

You can say it's a snooze you lose kind of thing, but if the store has someone doing what is alleged, you will have a number of customers angry over time. So maybe the manager shouldn't have given that info out, but he does need that information to take action. And if it turns out to be true, I'd want then to attempt to make it right or at least see the employee get fired

Well a good manager would be looking at cancellations anyway as part of loss prevention / customer service metrics. The important thing to learn here is NEVER call/order/alert employees in any way when there is a clearance deal to be had. Trying to blame people and get them fired over this is ridiculous.

One of my local stores showed 1 in stock late last night so I placed an online order expecting to get the call saying they didn't have any. To my surprise I received an email and call this morning saying my order was ready for pick up. When I went to pick it up it was obvious that it was the display model which was okay but it was locked and there was no key for it. The Lowe's employees searched but could not find the key anywhere and committed to trying to get a new key from Kobalt based on the key ID code on the lock.

A better manager would alert known frequent shoppers of a clearance opportunity. Today I dropped by Lowes and was told the clearance carts have been restocked and pushed out by the key machine and a bunch of bent door weatherstripping is $2 each (reg $4.98-$5.49). The foam strips you insert in a door frame to prevent drafts.

Here's a crappy pic.

Alot of these deals are priced higher in store than online so it only makes sense to buy online.

I stopped placing any order online. What I learned that almost all of them have been canceled. Then an hour later the inventory is updated because someone buys the product, most likely employee. What I’ve started to do is go to the actual store , find the product , put it in my cart. Make an order online and use a coupon. Go to the customer service desk with the order placed and let them know that you’ve placed the order online and you have found the item already. I always tell them I had an online only coupon that I couldn’t use in store so that’s why I did that. Lowe’s inventory is almost on point. The clearance items are usually up stock since there’s no more room for them on the Planogram in store.

Thanks for the heads up on these. I picked up enough for my 4 two-tube fixtures in the garage. Only changed out one pair so far, but a world of difference over the aging, half burnt out fluorescents that were there. I had been looking for awhile, but was still seeing prices over $10 a tube. Wasn't ready to plunk down that much. Also picked up some 300w equivalent leds at Menards last week on sale to replace my 300w incandescents in another part of the garage. Half off the usual $50.

Do you even know what your talking about? I read all your posts, not a single deal..all commentary.
Sales history is not confidential. It tells the store when the item was last sold. Why would I go in? Pretty obvious. I asked for the sales history before I conveyed my suspicion. I did not ask for them to "magically" find me another one, nor did I ask them to make it right. They are under no obligation. If in fact it was an employee, it is up to them to deal with it however they see fit. That sir is confidential.

Besides the utilitech being reduced there are some sylvania T8 LEDs that were being clearanced out, at least at my store... Lots and lots of them, ~$5 each IIRC....
