I bought 6 x 10 packs of Sylvania LEDs for $30 each box. I bought one box first and took them to the shop to compare against my fluorescent T8 bulbs. Fluorescent bulbs are Phillips F32T8/TL741 700 Series 32 WATT, Alto Collection.
From what I can tell by Googling, the Phillips fluorescent bulbs are rated at 2600 Lumens.
The Sylvania LEDs are rated at 1650 Lumens. I see no difference in the light emitted by the LEDs, other than the light is a bit bluer, or whiter. Certainly the brightness is comparable.
And, to top it off, they will last 50,000 hours. It says so on the box. 5.7 years. I'm glad these will last longer than the bulbs in the house that are supposed to last for 5 years and have to be replaced every few months...
I was actually looking for the Sylvania LEDs listed in post 17. My local Lowes was supposed to have 23 in stock. Nowhere to be found. But they had these in a clearance isle. I asked a Lowes employee to help me find the aforementioned bulbs. Couldn't, so he asked me if I would buy the 10 pack that was listed at $76.48, was $89.98 for $30. He said I could return them if I didn't like them. So I bought a 10 pack. Liked them and went back and bought the rest that they had.
Don't take my word for it. Do your own test. I think you will find that what has been mentioned in previous posts that LEDs that are listed as almost half of the Lumens as fluorescents will definitely put out comparable light.
