California Air compressor @ Menards - 11%

I have been watching the California Air tools from Amazon and Home Depot thread and thought it was a pretty good deal. I then found the same compressor at Menards on sale for $249.00 regularly $299.00 and starting this weekend they have their 11% off everything rebates. So I took my handful of rebates that I have been saving up for a special occasion and headed for Menards. I picked up the California Air #10020 compressor for $221.61 and paid for the whole thing with rebates.

Seems like a good deal... I've been looking at the smaller units, but may end up with this one.

I bought it in 2014 when it was $229 from a deal thread here... I *LOVE* the compressor... its REALLY quiet. But it does lack the headroom for running a lot of higher PSI things.

Could you elaborate on this some? I have been thinking about this compressor as my first air compressor. I will be using it to paint machine (HVLP probably) and general use rebuilding large machine tools and a bit of fab & auto work. I've always had access to big industrial air compressors -- never had to pick my own. I thought this size might be the something like the largest possible portable air compressor.

I was doing the same as looking for a small compressor to use for small quick jobs in the garage without going to the barn with the big compressor. Since i only have 120v in the garage I think this will be a great small compressor. And a great price at Menards with an extra 11% off.

I agree... for the jobs I will need it for, I think it will be perfect. Plus... I'm installing it in the attic above the garage and running quick connects into the garage from it. As a result, the "quiet" part of it is going to be real nice.

Soooo... yeah. Mine just shipped from Menards today, and I placed my rebate in the mail to be picked up tomorrow.

At ~85 pounds it is at the upper limit for a quick mobility type air compressor. Not sure if mine will end up in the basement, garage or shed???

Did I mention that mine cost me nothing out of pocket as the $221.61 was paid for with rebates...

I haven't been able to shop at a Menards since I lived in Michigan... many moons ago. So, I don't have that wonderful opportunity you do with the extra rebates.

But... That's totally a cool way to buy a new compressor. [emoji3]
