What's good at HD under 50 bucks

Diablo consumables, Milwaukee hand tools, Bessey clamps, Klein hand tools, lots of stuff! They actually have some usable 3/4" shackles with isolators for under 9 bucks if you need them. I use them for moving **** with the tractor on occasion.

My local HD has a decent selection of Klein USA pliers, if you happen to need any. Aside from electrician specific, I highly recommend the 2000 series, blue handled side cutters or linemans if you've never tried them and could use a quality pair. Around $40ish. Their 203 series, yellow grip needle nose are very good as well, closer to $30. At HD they also stock the new HD 2000 series 9" side cutter, which I would like to try.
Just remember the new Kleins flash rust easily, if that matters to you. They are bare steel and do not have a coating like Channellocks so I recommend oil them when new.

How about a cordless caulk gun? Doesn't come with a battery or charger, but if you have other Ryobi tools you can use a battery and charger from those tools.

I love Brute cans, but can't find bags to fit them. Any ideas? Hint- They don't sell any bags that fit them at HD.

their screw driver set was nice...
I bought two set during Christmas, and was surprised how well it is made.. a lot better than the Channel lock set I had from few years ago... but I got it for $15 special buys, now its $30... so might not worth it.

That is great! I have never seen this in my local Home Depot stores. I am going to look the next time I go there.
Using that would make it so much easier to dump the stuff out into a larger trash can than using a bigger shop vac that is on wheels. I hate cleaning my shop vac out when it gets full. It makes a mess everywhere.
This one would also work great for hooking up to a sander, or my table saw or any portable tool that I use in the garage. Thanks for posting this!

That would be perfect for the car trailer. I use a 5 gallon bucket already for a trashcan, so it would be a perfect fit. Not too mention I already have a few extra 1 1/4" hose accessories.

It *****, but in a good way.
I have not had a time where I needed more suction than it could deliver. It has a 4 amp motor and about as much suction as the smaller shop vac type vacuums.
It is good for typical garage dirt, sawdust, car interiors and similar uses.
The hose attachment is a bit short at 4'. I am sure there are extension hoses available out there somewhere.
Tool wise, if you don't have any ratcheting wrenches, I'd maybe grab a set. Maybe build a second set of basics for your trunk -- $10 Home Depot Homer Box toolbox, some DeWalt or Milwaukee or Husky hand tools (screwdrivers, adjustable wrench, small prybar, pliers, hammer). Or some of the name brand basics like Stanley Fat Max cat's paw/nail puller, Stanley tape measure. A metric tape measure is nice to have -- no fractions to mess with.
Or consumables -- Milwaukee/DeWalt bit/drill bit sets, Diablo reciprocating saw blades, circular saw blades

I have a box of those- they don't fit. I have the biggest Brute HD carries- 42 gallon? The problem is diameter- none of the bags are wide enough.

I use Brute cans at my gym. We get the trash bags from a janitor supply company. We buy them is cases of 100.

Midwest does that too with some of their cutters. I think that's business as usual, ie not a recent change.

I wasn't very impressed with that bucket vac when I tried it in the store.. the short hose is kinda limiting too considering it's corded. I'll agree, great idea, but don't expect a full sized shop vac from it.. it's good if you can work within it's limitations.

The BucketHead is a great $22 (plus the price of the bucket) vacuum. I use quite a few for work and throw them out when done, usually 8-24 months. I'm mostly picking up dirt, rocks and wet **** off of garage and basement floors.
They don't have a ton of suction like the larger models but they do an great job for the dirt I throw at them. I keep a few of the Home Depot Five Gallon Buckets around so I can finish the entire job and then take the buckets and dump them. You need to use the HD 5G Buckets to get the proper fit for suction. All five gallon buckets are not the same dimensions and they may have different lips.
The vacuum works great with liquid as well but sometimes the float doesn't shut it off right away so you have to be aware of rear-end blow out. The hose can be put on the exhaust and used as a blower, but again this isn't a high power unit but completely worth the price.

I like their Milwaukee demolition screwdriver sets. I think I've bought three sets so far. One for the shop, one for the car, and a spare set I use on contract work and in the junkyard.

I just got one of the bucket vacs and dedicated it to my oscillating spindle sander so I could free up the shopvac. Not a bad deal for less than 25 bucks.
Agreed! Just picked up 2 more today. Like the price for the quality.
