Hey all you 100% USA Made Chapman Manufacturing Fans,

(for those who don't know, Chapman has been making some of the best bit ratchets and driver bits for over 80 years in the same factory in Durham, CT; check out their story here: https://vimeo.com/149909069),

New Deal alert: get this modular 104 bit storage case plus a free dipped handle Chapman bit ratchet for $20.

https://chapmanmfg.com/products/new-chapman-mfg-5580-104-bit-case?variant=1227873222670

(the 13 individual bit holders fit 1/4 driver bits, but you can remove any of them and put your 5/8" impact driver bits and/or bit ratchets in there too)

Ordered one myself. In fact, I was the first to place an order after the email popped up in my inbox. Been keeping an eye out for a better organized solution to store my various bits.

The Chapman ratchets themselves are great to keep in your vehicle and pocket, and their bits are inexpensive and precisely machined.

The free ratchet comes dipped in a Channellock style yellow handle or the grittier black handle similar to what you encounter on some USA Craftsman tools. Make sure you choose the style you want in the drop down menu on the product page

Thanks so much for posting!

You can use the code G Journal to save 20% off the new 5580 case AND still get the free dipped ratchet until Monday 2/11.

Here's a quick video about the new case

I was looking at your site and am very tempted to get the Ultimate Gunsmith set (#5589) but it looks like the discount code doesn't apply to that item?

Thank you

That's correct, the code only applies to the new case, not website wide. If you're interested in a #5589 in the new case email me and I can send you an invoice with a discount on that set.

This may be a dumb q but I'll ask anyways. I have a lot of 2" long 1/4" bits that I use in my impact driver. Will the case work with 2" bits or will the lid only close with a 1" bit?

Great product, I've been using them since the seventies.
Ratchet is great for getting into those tight spots to loosen up a setscrew.

1 inch bits will fit in a chapman case. they are slightly shorter than a chapman bit. 2 inch bits will not fit.

i placed my order this morning. the new case, some jis bits, security torx on a rail, some flat bits i didn't have and a t-40.

all of that plus the free ratchet and 20 % off. a no brainer if you want to expand your sets or add a set . i will have every bit they make except for the bristol and security hex.

i talked to joel as well. sounds like there are a few things coming down the pipe as well.

Thanks, we're committed to US manufacturing. Unlike some companies that offshore and are now bringing back production, we never left! We're still in the same building from the mid 60's with some of the same machines.

You could always leave out a few racks to store longer bits

Looks like this deal is dead!

nope. it is good through today.

i know this is a foreign to many of you but pick up the phone.

someone will answer.

they will go through your order with you making sure you get exactly what you want.

tell them you want to use the 20% off garage discount.

they will manually take your info.

you will get your order in 3-4 business, maybe less

it is one of the best shopping experiences you can ever have.

it will take 5 minutes tops by the time you shoot the breeze and talk to a real person who says, hello, thank you and have a nice day!

Thanks for the recommendation. I tried ordering last night, but the code wasn't being accepted. Was going ot email, but will phone now.

I am mainly ordering because of the bit storage, but am curious how regular bits work with their tools? I see they have a special connector to theirs, which I can see being better, but I mainly have impact bits and would be using them in the mini-wrench. I see their are extension adapters, would those help with a regular bit?

chapman bits work best in their system. when used as a system they actually work better than standard 1/4 hex bits. they have a friction ball like a ratchet that holds them in the drive tool. i have locking handles and extensions that have the set screw. when the set screw is loose it has a friction fit. tighten it up and the tools and bits will not come apart.

i do not believe they are impact rated.

Ordered a master kit, gunsmith kit, and an extra case. I am extremely pleased with the quality of the bits and ratchets.
I like them so much I am in the process of ordering a few extra bits.

Keep up the good work Chapman and Thank you for making a quality product in the USA!!
