Has anyone used one of these are they any good? Thanks John

http://www.locknlube.com/

The Lock and Lube grease gun coupler has a unique sliding sleeve, activated by a thumb lever. The sleeve either locks the four spring-steel jaws onto the Zerk fitting or releases the jaws from the Zerk. When the jaws are locked onto the Zerk a leak proof seal is created. The locked connection is positive and rigid preventing the coupler from coming loose and breaking the leak proof seal. No hands are needed to hold the coupler onto the fitting while grease is being pumped. Because it does not leak, the grease goes in, not on the machine. The bearings get the grease they so desperately need.

If a fitting becomes pressurized, especially a recessed one, just depress the thumb lever and release the coupler. Stuck couplers can be problem with the standard coupler.

The Lock and Lube coupler is a great improvement over the standard coupler and the Lock and Lube coupler makes greasing easier, more satisfying and less frustrating.

When buying a new tool, it is always best to try before you buy. That’s very hard to do online. So the next best thing is a 30 day money back trial plus $3 for return shipping. This is a no risk way to end greasing frustration.

(fits most standard grease guns 1/8NPT hose connection)

After reading a lot of positive reviews, I ordered one yesterday. I'm tired of fighting with crappy zerk couplings that either won't stay on the zerk, won't come off the zerk or leak and squirt grease all over the place. This seems like a better mouse trap.

I have one on a dedicated grease gun for those special places it works really well. I wouldn't want it on my main gun, and on a flex hose is best. It takes up a lot of room.

It isn't for those easy to reach places, but on a few of mine I've found it very valuable.

Have two on our main guns, one on a cordless dewalt in the service truck and one on a cordless lincoln in the shop. Wouldn't go without, when they wear out will buy another. Lot of grease zerks on farm equipment, pays for itself by not wasting so much grease.

At least with my experience, I found its only good for fittings that your at the same axis as the fitting, the same angle. When you start building pressure itll stand the coupler straight up. Off axis greasing is a pain. At least with me. But its great for 95% of what I do.

I"ve used the Lock and Lube and like it a quite a bit. The locking feature does come in handy for greasing equipment. However, it is bulky and there are places where it will not fit, so it's good when pair with a second grease gun that has a standard end. The only issue I've had with mine is after a few years of use, it was getting loose on zerks. I used the included rebuild kit and now it takes a lot of force to fit on zerks. I need to mess with it to see if I got things too tight during reassembly since I don't remember it being like that when I got it new.

I have also used the Univer-Co coupler linked in this thread. Great idea, but sadly mine is real picky about zerk size. When it fits on a zerk, it works great. Maybe I gave up on it too soon, but when it wouldn't work well for the grease zerks on our hay baler and hay head, I lost interest in figuring out what it would work on.

Agree with the others. Takes up a bit of room but works like a charm when you have it. I've really appreciated it.

Looks like it would be great for farm & heavy equipment where you have easy access...

But for vehicles with zerks in tight spaces I think you will run into clearance issues...

Yes.

That's why I bought mine a few years ago, and it has exceeded my expectations.

Can't say that I've run into a problem yet. The few tight places I need to grease usually take a cone tip anyway. They do make an extended version for deeply recessed zerks.

I have this on several of our guns and some with the standard fitting for those tight spots the lock 'n lube don't fit.

The alemite grease gun packages directly from Lock-n-lube are great buys when on-sale, I got the 555-E package, I needed to replace old cheap worn out gun. Whole package was less than $90 during Nov./Dec.

I recently bought a similar, but more compact Lock on grease coupler.

UNIVER-CO #UC3102, Made in Canada.

A new grease gun with a hose and standard coupler were upgraded with this Locking coupler.. The standard coupler that was replaced has a larger diameter than the locking one.. But, on three other grease guns, the standard coupler is the same diameter as this new one.

I felt the UNIVER-CO coupler was a worthy purchase due to it's compact size. But: For many less restricted applications; the lever on the LOCK-N-LUBE would be easier to use. I see there is an extended version LOCK-N-LUBE as well. Now I'm thinking My coupler shopping is only one third done..

Lock and lube works great. But pretty much need to be online with zerk. But for locking on purpose it works better than others mentioned.

I look at that and think about ball joints, too tall is the conclusion.

I think the same of the Lincoln original, that looks like it's a better quality, notice the locking tab for starters.

I own this one and it works well, no leaks, grips the fitting, multi angle, it lives on the end of a tube whip.

Those flexable whip deals are squirmy when they have the slightest bit of grease one them. PIA to remove from the fittings, or put on for that matter.

I use one daily and like it a lot. I use it on heavy equipment so most zerks are easy to get at. We also have one on the shops pneumatic grease pump and it's great. It will get stuck if you try to push through a plugged fitting but all you have to do to release it is crack the whip hose loose to relieve pressure.
