Looking for a decent 3/8" air ratchet that will not cost me an arm and leg. I have a old HF one but it does not seem to have much balls behind it.

That's not necessarily a bad thing. I have a NAPA Intimidator that hurt me once. You really need to be aware of your surroundings and brace accordingly. Overall its not a bad ratchet and I like the movable exhaust. Mine was $35 but I think they retail for a fair bit more.

I second the list above as a fairly good choice as they really stand behind their products
Or you can get the HF impacting ratchet - won't bust your knuckles. I have one an it has worked well the few times I have used it so far.

Time to upgrade to batt powered. Love my snap on but If under budget id go with Milwaukee
That wont be an upgrade in power.

I've always been partial to the Mac branded SP air stuff. Air ratchets I feel are a lot of personal preference for speed/torque/control/direction.
