Hey everyone! Very new to the forum and have been getting some great information/ideas for coating the garage floor on a house that I close on next week.
I've pretty much decide to go with the Nohr-S product partly due to wanting to get the floor done before we move in while nothing is in the garage and due to the 35-60 degree temps during this time. We're giving ourselves 4-5 weeks to get some remodel stuff done while the home is empty, but chances of temps holding high enough for a few days to do Epoxy are unlikely.
Anyway, one of my main issues I can't decide on is filling the control joints for a seamless floor. Since Colorado is of course known for swelling soil, I'm wondering if anyone on here from Colorado has any experience with filling the joints prior to coating and then having cracks transition back through the surface? The house is 27 years old, a couple of the joints have 1/4 cracks down them, no apparent heaving, and no other cracks across the individual pads.
I'm hung up between taking the chance on filling prior to coating and dealing with coating repair later if the cracks come back through due to movement, or just using a flexible compound after the coating for keeping debris out of the joints.
