Here’s the problem- you stated your ‘local store’. If I obtained all my stuff from a single store, well...I would have to wonder why that Lowes was still in business. Some particular stores are known for having phenomenal clearance deals for several reasons...and they’re doing okay.



Now here’s something I will agree with. There’s a noticeable trend of deals that tends to fall in waves out east. Here in Cali there’s tons of competition and maybe why the discount prices are slightly more common out east.



Giving up gives others the advantage. Your store must have really tough competition / employees are hiding the gems you desire.



This is one way to do it, but certainly won’t get the consumer to the best killer deals out there. There’s several ways to game the system to the advantage of the consumer. I’m sure you’re aware of them without saying.

A matter of opinion I suppose. It depends on what you’re looking for. My garage has passed the point of duplicate power tools.

If you can visually see them in stock, you might have an opportunity to purchase them at a lower price at a later time. Best of luck! Okay, another store reached out to me and said they made a mistake. At this point I was thinking...great; now what. The ASM explained they found more of the Anker items I was looking for. Whoa...

So I scored a few more of the earbuds. Inventory is way off on these items. The store had more than 20 when they couldn’t find a single one, down to less than 10 after I was called, then down to the last few when I called back to finalize everything. These things will be cool to give to family and friends.

Ready to be ticked off with a deal....? These popped up a few weeks back and, well..look how low this wheeled tool box was reduced to. Given its by Blue Hawk, but that shouldn’t matter at this ridiculous price. Retail price was actually $49.99.

Garage Surfer my local Lowe's stocks the items. They just are rarely at the low clearance prices. Not all stores run all items on clearance. An example would be that an item may be 90% off near you but only 20% off near me.

Trust me...I know. Those here that post deals in their early stage as non stock items help those out there to keep an eye on what might drop in price at a future date in their area.

As to the porter cable restorer, I picked one up for $15.60 with coupon. :rocker:

Those holding out for the low price of $17.** might want to rethink things out since several stores are jumping back to the full retail price $99.**

At any rate, I would hold out until the 16th and see what happens. I quickly jumped over to review the items once more at their lowest prices and at that price it said the price was good until March. So, all the February prices posted should see another bump in clearance price and it wouldn’t surprise me if the date changed to March just like the stores with the lowest price points now.

Thanks for sharing.

At first I was surprised to hear this, then the moment kicked in when I thought about how lowes has done weird things before. It’s a non stock item so it should only go down in price. I still need to purchase extra sanding spindles.

Definitely not the northeast. Since discovering this thread I've compared prices at my local store to other parts of the country, almost everything is more expensive here. California prices are crazy compared to CT/MA, some items are more than 20% cheaper there. One store in CT had the Anker deals but nothing was in stock, that's the only thing I've found locally that I had any interest in.

ALL the Vaughn hammers are marked as clearance at the biggest Lowes in my area. Prices haven't dropped more than $1-2 but its every single one, and also two of the Stanleys.

What the...dang at member ‘homeschool’. I’m trying to post a deal here and when I’m typing in my reply, everyone’s posts became small with the exception of the member ‘homeschool’ since I suppose he uploaded original files without resizing his pics (which are massive in screen size proportion). Thank goodness this forum resizes images like that for normal forum viewing...but when making a reply here...well, the images are extremely large.

Moving past that now...

Here’s something small for those intrested. No big deal, but thought I would still share it.

To the three above the matter has been addressed. It’s been explained to me why this happened. Doesn’t matter...the forum is working fine now. It only appeared when replying to earlier posts.
