I don't find the Wright's too short. Length can give you issues in spots.

With that beam profile they have, if they were longer, they couldn't make them fast enough to meet demand.

After reading this thread i am seriously considering the Proto over the Williams

Personally, i would skip the Williams. Smaller sizes spread and the chrome will peel. I prefer my used Snap on FD+ over the Williams set. And to be honest, I prefer the non-anti slip design (1970's through the 1990's) Bonney's over all other wrenches. they just feel good in my hands.

Bonney is sweet. Or should I say WAS sweet. I think we're working on the assumption of buying new with a product that can be had on demand and with a warranty to back it up. But yes, if they were still being made, Bonney is up at the top with the best.

I think of Proto ASD as the satin finish version of the Snap-on regular Flank Drive. I like my Proto's and I bought them for the finish not the ASD end. If you want the best chrome get the Snap-on but they get scratched up quickly in a heavy duty setting. The thing with satin is that your are not afraid to use them on the back of impacts or breaker bars.

Couple of pictures of my 15/16 Proto. The open end is nicked becauuse i put a pipe on it trying to loosen a nut on a adjusting rod. Eventually had to use heat and a 18" pipe wrench with a cheater to move that nut
