Dewalt DW734 Planer Question

I read reviews and all and feel that it's a good choice for me and price is reasonable.

Funny thing is I cannot find anything about it on the Dewalt site. I type in model number and description and don't get any bench-top planers. Prominently displayed on Amazon/CPO Outlet etc

Any idea why?

Also any ideas for portable table. I really love my Bosch table saw with fold down table but unable to find anything purpose made readily.

Thanks

Couldn't tell you, they don't list the DW735 either.

I have the DW734, it's fantastic. It does give you some snipe if you don''t lock it but if you're not lazy, locking it virtually eliminates the snipe.

Keter makes great portable tables, they make them for Husky and I think Dewalt too, all of those are great. I personally have my DW734 on a wire shelf with casters on it which works fine for the time being. Eventually I'm going to build one of these to make better use of available space: http://fixthisbuildthat.com/diy-flip-top-tool-stand-plans/

Thanks for the info.

I saw a guy on youtube made a flip stand with a miter saw on the other side. Pretty slick ideas

I made a plywood base that mounts the planer to my Dewalt portable stand. Prior to that I had it on a plywood base that hooked over the top of a Workmate. Both worked well but the Dewalt stand has the support arms that are real handy as in/ outfeed support for the planer. (I mount the planer oriented long-ways on the stand)

What do you mean by "lock it"? I have the 734 and if you know of some onboard feature it has to minimize snipe I'm interested.

It's that black bar on the "in" side - pull it up to adjust, push it down to lock.

Yup. With the lever up I get snipe almost every time no matter what wood or length, with it locked, it's occasional and less noticeable when it's there. It took me a while to figure that out.
