Found a couple for $2.40 and one for $5.80 but none of them would allow me to select parcel ship. I really wanted 2. One for my mother in laws house and one for my sister. Both ladies are on their own.

If the locations won't ship, maybe post their info in case someone nearby can take advantage of it. :)

That's exactly why I added that both the FL locations were tapped out, you'll probably be getting PMs for another week!

Cagef's Columbus location still has stock so I'll wait to post what I got...but the deal has been posted in the thread so don't worry, it's nothing new.

Sorry, I'm sure this is posted somewhere that I couldn't find. Whats the secret to finding these deals? Is there a thread somewhere with info? Is it similar to HD's PCA? Thanks!

Great idea, read a thousand posts just hoping to be lucky enough to stumble across it. Or, hope everyone on here isn't a douchebag who's worried I'll steal his deal.

Unlike HD that pulls listings from their website when they clearance, Lowes website will list clearance prices at each store. Easiest is just to select the store near you and browse various categories. You will see the Green Text saying "Save $** or **%" with the reduced price. The amount off and actual items will vary store to store.

:rolleyes2 I figured I'd get answers like this....

The first reply from Drwheels is the correct one IMO. The best way to find deals is to go to your local store and do a thorough search.

Once an item hits clearance it will just keep dropping. You won't find newly clearanced items posted in this thread or elsewhere because at 10% off they are not a deal. You need to find new clearance yourself and then watch for price drops. Make note of clearance tags and track them on your own because they are often updated late or never in the store, meaning the price tag can be 10% off but the actual price is 90% off.

I also find that when I look for new clearance tags on an item I want that I need to make note of the item # and current stock level. They will often sell what's on the shelf at the clearance price but not restock from the overhead. If I've kept track, I can see that they have stock in the overhead area and are not updating with a price tag on the shelf because they think they are OOS. I'm surprised at how often this occurs.

By the time most deals get posted here (or other places), it is too late for many people to get them. This is why you need to follow clearance in your local store.

Jason, thank you for the generous response. So you basically surf Lowe's website from home computer with your local store set as "my store"?

I'm familiar with the green text your speaking of but I didn't know if there was a more specific way.

I use the "check other store" button quite a bit too. If I can drive 20 minutes to save myself $50 I'll gladly do it. Luckily I'm in an area where there are 3 stores within 15 minutes of each other and 2 more about 30 minutes away.

Also searching a general category (ie pliers) then changing the display to "priced from lowest to highest." I've never scored any deals like that but I was told by a member here that's how they do it.

Good info, but also note some stores typically have better clearance pricing than others. In my area, there are a number of Lowes stores, but two of them typically have lower clearance prices and more clearance items than all the rest.

It's worthwhile to watch pricing over time to figure out which stores generally have better clearance stuff.

Is that working for you, that the clearance price is what is used for the price ranking? When I choose that option, it ranks by the original price not the clearance price.

It shows us price changes "new lower price" etc... I haven't used it personally to score any deals though.

I did notice a banner across the top of the screen saying "10% off for Lowes cardholders." ends 3/3

Basically what Thirdyfive said, it is worth clicking the link on a product page to check other stores in your area if they have stock and what their price is. You can also refresh the item listing page and it will show prices for the new store you selected. Some store mark down faster than others, some are full price while others are 80%+ off... makes no sense...

Stopping by your store(s) is also good if you are really into the deals. Lowes has been putting more and more out on carts in each area with most of the clearance stuff. Mostly little stuff but usually in the general area they will put larger items too.

I won't make a dedicated trip to Lowes just to search, but if I'm in the area and have time to spare I will do a walk-through...

Cracking up! ....this made my morning. The upcoming months should prove real intresting if they’re anything like what’s happened in prior Spring seasons. Lowes on the NYSE has moved rather sharply in price. Last year the price was in the low $70 range during Jan 2017 and this past Jan it was a hair over $100 a share.

This could prove intresting on the stock exchange if Lowes wants to come out ahead in their market field. It just might mean a shift in prices...and maybe more clearance drops in order to bring in new inventory more frequently. Several factors also rely also on how HD is doing. I hope it still remains competitive with these clearance deals becoming even stronger in lower prices into the future.

Over a 100 posts since Jan 2017 and you mention a BS membership. I expect more post sharing with those better deals on BS from you! I’m messing around. I knew you had a membership given your prior posts making reference to something along the lines of what’s going on over on BS be it directly or indirectly.

You guys that follow clearance prices, do they drop in price weekly?

I went to my local Lowe's last night, and found that many of the clearance items were actually lower than the marked price.

Found these 60-grit flap discs marked 7.99, actual price was marked down to 3.99.

https://www.lowes.com/pd/Shopsmith-Ceramic-7-in-60-Grit-Flap-Disc/1000013896

There’s a shift here that’s making it difficult to closely follow clearance prices which isn’t in favor of those closely watching the discount price. Some of the scripts to follow lowes prices aren’t correct...even Lowes online isn’t reflecting some in store clearance prices.

A few pages back or so I posted pics of a clearance knife that was a different price at the store for several weeks before it was finally mentioned on Lowes through their site. I was closely watching a tool that retails for about $36 and the lowest price was $15 earlier this week. Now this exact non-stock (clearance item) is back at full retail price.

Maybe Lowes is testing the waters of what to do with their clearance items in terms of price drops. This will certainly **** if it’s a roller coaster ride in price from clearance back to full retail. I may jump ship to HD clearance if lowes plays these types of games.

One more thing- lowes better make it clear what’s a sale item and a clearance item for future reference. Items drastically shifting from clearance prices back to full retail need to cease or it’s just going to create all sorts of problems like people making purchases at lower prices and returning for the higher retail price (store credit).

Uncertain about markdown schedule, I don't think it is weekly though.

However it is not uncommon for the sticker at the store to be lower than what it rings up. That's why I like to check with the website. When in-store I will use the Lowes app and scan the barcode to see the price. More convenient than having to go to a self-checkout machine to see price.

Considering the difficulty people have had returning items to Lowes, I don't think anyone will have any real success buying on clearance and returning for full price, they might be able to once or twice but they will get blackballed real quick in the system.

But I agree Lowes needs to handle their pricing better. Dropping a $30 item down to $2 then back up to $30 is not good business... Look at how Sears games their prices and where they are at today...

If you're doing the boots on the ground approach, always check the Mechanix glove display. I have around 7 pairs of Mechanix gloves, never paid more than $10 for them only 3 from places other than Lowe's(Mechhanix directly). I'm sure you can look online but I've found that sometimes sizing is off, normally I'm a XL glove but one or two pairs I got a L because they had longer fingers than the other Mechanix gloves.

Yes, unfortunately that 'temporary clearance' BS seems to be common now at many major retailers. I've seen it happen on multiple occasions at:
Lowe's
Sears
Walmart
possibly Home Depot, not sure about that one

Someone posted in this thread a couple days ago explaining what the reason is for it happening at Lowe's, has to do with inventory count being off, they reset an item to full price when they think the store has run out, even if it actually still has some of that item left. Sears and Walmart are just screwing around for no reason, though; the word 'clearance' has lost all meaning.

Funny, that’s exactly how I feel throughout the entire year when I scoop up these sick deals and think of what Black Friday use to be in terms of deals.

This is just filler to keep the topic going. It use to be $179; it’s now as low as $12.

The below item is a ‘sale’ item, but people on slickdeals always flip out when it’s posted for some reason.

I need a few dozen of those pavers but theyre not on sale near me...

Nothing is ever on sale near me. I think this whole thread...and the HD thread...and the amazon thread....and the garage sale thread....are fake threads designed to drive me crazy. It's a conspiracy.

Happens for a few reasons:

Sometimes items are non-stock items so when they're gone they're gone. But if the inventory count is off, when the computer thinks they're all gone the price jumps back up to normal price, and has to be noticed and adjusted by a manager. If there's 10 of an item but the computer says 5, once 5 are sold the price goes up to the full price for the other 5.

Some items are on clearance as stock items, and more keep coming in from the DC, and eventually the "clearance" price becomes the normal price. The store really doesn't choose which items are clearance, it's corporate pricing decisions.

Garage Surfer, you keeping the awesome pump clearance a secret right now? This is just one of them. Various pumps on clearance

Nope. I have no interest in it. I would have shared something like that if I knew the community was intrested. As this week closes, it’s proven to be a slow week. I’m hoping next week has something more intresting.

I think you might notice it at Home Depot when you have say something from the garden area, that get clearanced out and this is in November, such as the Fiskars grass shears I bought. Then I decide I really don't need them, and bring them back a few weeks ago after finally coming across the receipt. As I made my usually loop in the store, I notice the shears are back to full price, and they have a fresh new shipper of them in.

Though I have seen some power tools get clearanced out after Xmas, then a month later it is carried as a regular item. :headscrat

Aha, thanks for confirming my vague recollection about HD. Sounds like they definitely belonged on my little 'naughty list'. ;)

I do know Target doesn't do this kind of BS - their clearance prices only go downward, and if you find a leftover item after the store computers moved it into not-for-sale status because the clearance timeframe ended, they let you buy it for the last (lowest) price in the system. Not a whole lot of tool-type stuff to be had there, though.

Okay, we'd probably better stop comparing about other stores before one of the topic-police gets mad. :p
