Plumbing Question

Not sure if this is the correct place to ask the question, but here goes nothing...

I am replacing my 20 gal well tank with a larger 32 gallon tank. While I am in there I decided to upgrade the whole house water filter and add a water softener since we have an abundance of calcium in the water. Now I was just going to cut the 3/4" line that supplies the house and plumb in all of the new items using 1" copper piping as all of the fittings are either 1" MNPT or 1" FNPT. After the water softener I would put a 1" to 3/4" reducer to tie into the existing plumbing.

Question is, would it be beneficial from a water pressure standpoint to use 3/4" throughout? I would have to get all my fittings to be 1" NPT to 3/4" instead of 1" NPT to 1".

What are peoples thoughts?

I already purchased all of the 1" piping components, now I am second guessing myself thinking 3/4 may be the way to go but can't decide!

Pipe size does not change pressure in system. It will only change volume. But in your case either size will not change either.

It doesn't change static pressure, but it changes dynamic pressure. Larger pipe will have less pressure drop in use.

I wasn't able to find the flex lines at my local stores.

I ended up having an issue with the rigid lines on the water softener so I postponed that portion of the project and got the rest done.

Yes, what size are the ports on the tank? The manifold portion should essentially match this and or the size of the pipe that feeds from the well. I agree, that looks good.
