Impressive build. You have to love how they go up so fast.
They really do! They were hoping to have it completed by the end of this week which is exciting [emoji16]

Anyone have any recommendations on LED high bay lights? I've ordered a couple of UFO style ones from eBay to see how they go, but any advice or links would be appreciated!

Thought I'd try my luck with some cheap LED bay lights from eBay. I figure if they're alright I'll order more, if they're **** I'll order something better.

Most of the reviews I can find on YouTube seem positive, if they last for a few years they will be alright!

Any comments / recommendations / experiences welcomed!

Shed is coming along nicely. On the lights, I put two 50w LED spotlights in my garage space. Put them up high with one on each side, shining down. Illuminates really well, and not in my eyes whilst working. Cost $80 each from an electrical wholesaler.

In the photo, the area at the back that is dark is illuminated by different lights as it is my workshop.

Those look plenty bright. Maybe I will have overkill with 6 of these LED High Bay lights in my work area!

freakygeek I haven't had any experience with that particular brand. However with a five year warranty and Meanwell components they would be worth a try.

Regards

Yeah I thought the Meanwell driver and Philips LED should be reasonable, reviews suggest the aluminium construction is quite solid.

I'll post up my findings!

Today the boys hooked in and got the roof finished! I'm super impressed with the result and can't wait to get in here and make use of the space. Floors need to be painted and also flooring needs to be installed in the Mezzanine area. Rain water tank needs to be installed and the associated plumbing etc.

But it looks like a shed now... super happy.

freakygeek, your mezzanine will be very handy down the track..:thumbup:

I'm really excited about how much space there is up there. I want to have some for storage and some for a cool hangout zone.

Thanks Giddyup! There's a few people that have turned a funny shade of green when I've showed them the photos - lol. The young guy who delivered the flooring today for the mezzanine was very impressed - "one day I'll have something like this!".

Very nice! That'll be a great space.

I am actually super excited to do projects in here. I can't wait!

So the Ranbuild guys finished their part of the build yesterday afternoon - here's a few pics!

Afternoon sun casting a shadow exactly where I want it -

Mez floor is fantastic. Got some yellow tongue flooring sheets delivered today so that will be this weekends' project!

LED high bay turned up - thought I'd plug one in and see how much light it made. Super impressed - I'll have no problems with 6 of these!

Shed looks great mate, any plans for the floor?
Probably just an epoxy for now, and some areas in Swisstrax or similar. :)

Got the flooring installed in the mezzanine area over the weekend, haven't done this before so I was pretty happy with the results!

freakygeek, top job:thumbup:

Presumably you have another hand rail to go at the edge ?

Will there be a removable section to load stuff up there?

Thanks 1/2cup!

I haven't got a rail as yet, but will definitely need to make one :)

The plan would be to have a removable section and an electric winch on a beam, with a cage attached to lift heavy things up there.

Got the power connected up in the shed yesterday, Scott (my electrician mate) did a neat job with the board.

Plenty of room for the light switches to the left of the load centre, and room above for Ethernet switch etc.

More power and more progress. I like the way you have set up the upstairs area floor.

Thanks Hotfr8! It will be a great space up there.

I'm trying to not get carried away and move everything into the shed before I get the floors epoxied, but to get a true idea of size and scale we put Aaron's MX5 under the mezzanine to see how it will all work. Looks like we could put two cars under there for storage quite comfortably and not intrude into the adjacent hoist bay :willy_nil

Thanks guys!

On the weekend Scott got into running the main bay lighting circuits for the shed. I decided to switch each bay separately with the hoist bay two-way switched (from each PA door).

I am awaiting the rest of my LED high bay lights to arrive, but the light produced with only one of 6 is already really good.

Used a pretty simple eye-bolt and carabiner setup to hang the lights. Happy with how it turned out, and super simple to change out a light if / when they need to be replaced.

freakygeek way to go..[emoji106]
Thanks mate!
Looks great.

Are you going to put lights on seperate switches, so you can vary the amount of light in the shed?

Won't be long and it will be filling with stuff!

Ken
Cheers!
Yes - I switched them in pairs, so I have three switched bays with these lights and the above & below mezzanine areas will also be switched independently :)

I'm going to experiment with some Sonoff WiFi controlled switches so I can switch lighting from anywhere also :) Will be handy for integrating the floodlights into a smart-home solution also.

Great shed!

I'm a big Honda fan and was curious if your rendering of the cars was accurate or just for fun. Well now I see it is accurate. Very nice.

Thank you Jon!

Are you on ClubITR? I know there's a Jon on there doing an Integra build hehe.

The NSX needed a home and there needed to be more space to build future projects [emoji16] So this is where it has led me so far!

I had a very nice 95 GSR that I sold a number of years back....so that isn't me! I did almost everything possible short of opening up the engine and loved that car. But I got married and wanted a new house more then the GSR. So I sent her down the road. :(

I've never had the honor of owning a Type R.

I have been day dreaming about owning an S2K for years, but seeing as how we just bought another house....that is a few years out!

They are great cars! I've loved all the Hondas I've owned so far, the DC2 Type R is my 2nd one so I've been a DC2R owner for 16 years total now!

The NSX has always been my dream car and I bought it in 2013 from my uncle who had owned it for almost 20 years prior.

S2000 is next on the list for sure :D

Small update - Got the rest of the high bay lights up! Light levels won't be an issue in here :D

Now I need to choose some lights for the mezzanine end, both under and above.

I've been slack with updates because it didn't seem like there was much to show!

Got some more electrical work done and additional exterior floodlights, but the next big upgrade is getting the floor epoxy coated. I found a local guy who does commercial floors at a very reasonable price, and we decided on a FlowCrete epoxy with a clear polyurethane top coat. Hopefully we can apply the first coats this weekend!

Grinding the floor in preparation...
