Is there any major difference between the different brands? The majority of them seem to be made by the same manufacturer.
The HF are thin walled. Good for removing lugs unless they are stuck. If they are stuck in there they will crack, ask me how I know.

I had a similar experience and was surprised to learn that Pittsburgh automotive tools do NOT have a lifetime warranty. Real bummer. My Titan sockets are holding up well though.

HF sells two lines of these, the pittsburgh pro line does have a warranty. If I buy another set from HF it will be the pro set.
I suggest these. Im not a pro, but I've used these on my electric impact held up great no breaks so far. Box says ok for impacts too. Comes with nice case. Made in Taiwan.
