What is the general opinion on SK sockets?

I am close to pulling the trigger on their spline socket set since they apear to be the only ones offering them but I have read here about some QC issues with their wrenches.

Thanks

the spline set i got a few days ago was in excellent shape, only qc issues was on the knurling of the ratchet and 1 extension in the kit. Which I could care less about.

I have older S-K stuff and it's fine, I was never a huge S-K fan, don't know why, I do like their old raised panel wrenches. Granco has US made spline sockets, don't know where they are available or much about them. Check out their website: www.grancoind.com

After looking at their website I do see they have Mac, Cornwell and Wright listed as mobile distributors.

And MSC Industrial, McMaster Carr and Grainger as industrial suppliers.

I have owned and used that SK spline set for about a year and a half. No QC issues. I have been very happy with them. I like SK stuff in general. QC wise, you have to watch their wrenches for burrs and straight beams, and the knurling on some of their extensions and ratchets. Durability has never been a problem with them for me.

I called Wright to ask about the Spline Sockets since no spline sockets appear for sale in their catalog (despite dedicating 5 pages to their merits). Wright does not sell spline sockets presently, the sockets shown in the catalog are "special order".

As for S-K, I think their sockets are perfectly good although I would prefer the Wright product.
