I'm going to need a set of snap ring pliers for a few upcoming projects and am in need of a quality set of pliers. I'm specifically looking at the SRPC102 set. I've read many arent fond of adjustable pliers, which these are. I do like that you get one 90* and one straight as well as the attractive price point. The other option would be to splurge and get the SRPC107A, but I'm not sure I'll need the variety and that set doesnt include the large pliers from the SRPC102 set. From searching it looks like the consensus is the SRPC107A set is a great set, but I cannot find any info on the SRPC102 set. Anyone have them and like them?

I don't mind the convertible pliers but I hate the replaceable tip kind. The replaceable tip kind are not angled outward like they need to be. Don't forget about Imperial Tools. I've got one pair of the IR-90 and the quality is superb. I'm going to get the IR-70 next.

The set of 2 is a new grouping AFAIK. The PNs minus the G at the end should let you find the individual pieces in standard red handles. I have a few pair and they seem durable so far.

I think the replaceable tips versions from several mfgr are what is usually considered troublesome. These are forged and the tips are splayed properly to work internal or external as needed.

What are the tip sizes on that set? That's the most important information and they don't tell you.

Yeah thats part of the problem, they dont give you individual PN's. My truck will be here Friday and I'm going to see if he has a set or will bring one in for me to look at.

Good to know about adjustable vs replaceable tips!

I have the full set and they are damn good pliers. The only time the reversible plier give me problems is on super duty front hubs so I bought a single non reversible set for those.

i hate reversible. that snap-on tips don't have the same tip shape as the german brands which i think the germans do it better.
