BACKGROUND
My garage build is now complete, and the (completely awesome) lift was installed over the weekend. Now we need some cabinets. The Home Depot has Gladiator on sale for 25% off, and I like how they match the diamond plate on the lift.

THE ASK
I've conducted some searches, and I can't find reviews of Gladiator free standing cabinets--or really any recent Gladiator reviews. Right now the 72x36x18 cabinet is $224 while the 72x48x18 cabinet is $322.

Any advice or reviews?

I got two for around $200 each from Lowe’s (20% off plus a coupon code). I like them for what they are... think a place to store random junk so it’s hidden and dust free rather than an industrial grade shelving you’re going to put an engine block and anvil on. I believe they’re rated for 250 lbs or so.

They look half decent, are fairly easy to assemble, and if you’re not expecting 1/4” 316 steel and Lista quality for $200 you’ll probably be happy. I have some pics in my build thread or happy to answer and questions. I mounted on the gear track since I have some blocking on the floor. Makes it look nice and keeps them flush to the wall.

I almost went with a full new age set, and then decided the $2k more would be better spent elsewhere.

Thanks, pgray007!

I've been comparing these to the Seville Classics UltraHD Tall Storage Cabinet at Sam's.

I have a bunch in my garage. They are nice for the money, but I am spoiled with Lista cabinets at my business. I’m probably going to end up replacing the Gladiators with Lista at some point, but the Lista are significantly more money, so not really a fair comparison.

Just read some very positive reviews of the Seville Classics at Sams. They look like a significant step up from the Gladiator RTA’s.

I believe the Sams weren’t rated for wall mounting, which is what dissuaded me, plus they were a good $100 or so more per cabinet.

The Seville Classics ended up being quite a bit cheaper than the Gladiator RTA's (even with the 25% sale), and their quality really impressed me when I went to look at them.

We received free shipping, so my wife talked me into ordering the red ones vs. the grey ones they keep in stock. They should be here in a week.

I appreciate everyone's advice!

I received the Seville Classics cabinets from Sam's and put them together. I was impressed with how easy they were to assemble--they even came with a nice magnetic screwdriver to ensure I did not lose any screws. Which, to be clear, I normally do.

I have read some older reviews stating that these cabinets sometimes ship with damage. There was a note in mine stating that the packaging had been changed to minimize damage. It seems to have worked. There was foam everywhere. One cabinet had a dimple on the piece that was packed on the bottom, but it was a back wall, so it won't show.

I'm impressed with the quality for the dollar. The casters are sturdy and huge, and each cabinet is rated at 600 lbs.

You've made you choice, so the following is for the benefit of others reading:

Keep in mind that Gladiator has two lines that look the same. There's the RTA stuff, and then the Premier stuff.

Good point. I believe I was comparing to the RTA stuff that was in the big box stores when I looked. It was closest in price to the Seville...but still more expensive.

Those are pretty nice looking. i like the red.

I missed your original post or I could've told you about my experience with the Gladiator RTA. I got mine on Black Friday 2017 special from Lowes. I've been happy with them but do not have them heavily loaded yet.
