I recently bought a small used tool chest. The thing works great except it doesn't have padding on the bottom of the drawers. Their are many different types of padding out their and am wondering what people have currently and could recommend something? The one requirement is that it has to look good.

I like indoor/outdoor carpet and am slowly converting my drawers over to it. It has a rubber buttom so it doesn't slip and is much sturdier than typical drawer liners.

search "drawer liners" and you'll see ALOT of discussion.

I bought some Yoga mats to put in one of my boxes, they look nice and work well- but I've found that some of the tools I put in there stuck to the liner a bit if they were not used for some time.

Other people use rubber mats or carpet, there are lots of options + prices.

I think from reading past posts a good number of folks around here use yoga mats cut to fit their drawers.

I am thinking of going w/ the colored con-tact grip drawer/shelf liner myself.

Does anyone know where to get the actual liner that comes with boxes? Like the stuff Snap-on sells, but SO only sells it pre-cut now. Where can I find liner like that in rolls? I'm not sure if it's the same stuff crbfnbr posted above. I searched the threads but couldn't find an answer.

Yoga Mats! can't go wrong. I just did my box with them. I got mine at Target. But Wal*Mart and K Mart sell them as well.

I personally like this stuff. I like the thickness of it, but the seller also has some other varieties.

I was looking for liners that weren't too expensive. I found the same ones and I really like them. They are sticky tacky and lays down really flat. Tuck it in the corners and it goes right up the side of your drawers.

I just re-did a couple of drawers in my box with the Kobalt matting I bought at Lowe's. Nice liners, my box is a KR1000/ KR1200 so I needed 28" material and the Kobalt stuff is 22". I used up a 12" wide roll of no- slip drawer liner that I had bought years ago from an RV supply using it to fill in the resulting gap in back of the drawers. Lowe's also carries black indoor/outdoor carpeting that looks nice lining toolbox drawers. If I get the urge to re- do the whole box I"ll go with the carpet.
