2018 Lowe's deals/sales/clearance thread

I was at Lowe's today looking at Werner mutliladder/extension ladders. There was a Werner 22 MT-series I was thinking of getting so I have to ask:

Are these ladders safe when fully extended?? Because they look ****-puckery when they are fully extended IMHO (like the joint would give way and collapse). My problem is I want a nice 20'+ extension ladder but the pickup bed is only 6' and I need to be able to transport it.

What do you do when you need to reach decent heights but need to transport the ladder in a 6ft truck bed?

All I have is a Werner MT22 and a 6ft step ladder for in the house. I love the multi-position ladder. It's a bit heavy but not bad. I've used it as a step ladder, extension ladder up to the full extension, and as small scaffolding for taping drywall ceilings. Like others said, I'd have a nice extension ladder if it were part of my job, but the MT does everything a homeowner needs.

In my opinion, I'd buy the new Little Giant Leveler over the Werner at this point. Only $169 for the 17ft and $214 for the 22ft. The leveling feet for the Werner ladders are an additional $90, so the LG would be cheaper overall, plus it has wheels.

Like Jason said, if you're looking to get a lot of use out of it as an extension, I'd go with a good quality extension. I have 2 aluminum Werner extensions: 24' and 40'. The 40' is only used a couple times a year, but the 24' I use all the time. I also have a 16' multi position, but it's the M1A model, not the MT, and I pretty much only use that as a stepladder when the 6' won't cut it.

My 24' is no problem in a short bed. Assuming a length of a little over 12' when not extended, I just brace the feet against the cab end of the bed, rest the ladder on the tailgate, and let the other 6' hang over. Tie it down and make sure to hang something bright on the end hanging out the back.

I have multiples of ALL of the HD Werner convertible ladders and I love them as a step ladders as they are what used to be known as "Solid as Sears".

I like the fact that I can put a foot on each side of the ladder instead of using my knee, thigh, waist, etc against the ladder to give me that balance point when working over my head. They are great for working in a stairwell or to build a quick scaffold.

As far as an extension ladder goes, they will work but definitely not my first choice. I would rather walk and carry a heavier than anything 30 year old wooden ladder vs using the convertible ladder as an extension ladder even if it was laying on the ground right where I needed to use it. For me.... there is just something about them feeling "funny" under foot when you climb them and especially "funny" when you transfer from the ladder to the roof or back onto the ladder from the roof. They just aren't steady, they move quite a bit.

I haven't used it but I am somewhat surprised that no one has provided the link to the 375 pound, 22' Gorilla ladder they have on sale for $99.00 at Home Depot...

As was said, get one, try it and judge for yourself as to if you like it for your needs. Just be careful!

I picked up a dozen cans the other day for $1.27/ea.

It's not earth shattering stuff, but you can do some cool things with it.

Then the code does is expired or doesn't work. Coupons can be used on just about anything. I think the only exceptions are gift cards & services.
