I picked up that same Indestro set the other day! Mine was missing the wrenches but had the ratchet.

Did your set have anything to keep the tools in place??
And, was my surmise about the spark plug socket right? I made the swap anyway because I had the correct Indestro Select 13/16 on hand and it fits the recess better than the 5/8.

Pix! We need PIX!

Opening day of the flea market here today also, been nothing going on for yard/estate sales either, winter *****. Place was only about half full, but I did manage to spend $19. for these items. Highlight is probably the brand new Pittsburg 1/4 & 3/8 double ended extra long flex ratchet.

Man, I've been on the lookout for a set of those pulleys. And dude, you got a smoking deal on the whole pile!

Army. The brackets in the center, top and bottom, between the drawers, is for a security bar. When padlocked, it prevented the drawers from being opened. These were bolted onto the beds of trucks used as mobile repair shops. A few of us WWII guys have them. Nice find!

Hey Lugz,

Do you have a picture of one of yours with the security bar. I'm going to try to fab one for it, but can't find anything online of how it's suppose to look, just a bunch of interest pics of re-purposed ones as butcherblocks.

I'll guess $150?

And as for EOC's massive pile of NOS sockets (and the previous massive pile of NOS wrenches etc), I'm guessing he'll be slowly working through those for resale for years to come...

I got a chuckle when reading though yours and EOCs mixup. I did pay a total of $155 for my Saturday haul. I'm watching a similar set of 4-way angle head snap-on wrenches on ebay right now being bid by 37 folks for $315+10.99 shipping.

My Monday deal was this, but still need to fenaggle the sale of my older/more used mower to get most of my stuff for free. This LT1000 was free, but needs four things to make it a weekly user.....

The four things are as follows:
1. Fix the steering drag link on the knuckle
2. Make a new spark plug wire (PO had tried touse this mower as a parts mower but wasn't very handy and just cut the plug boot thinking it could be used on her other)
3. Buy a new battery (none included)
4. Buy new blades (also none included: see No. 2. note)

It did; however, come with the key and owner's manual, which is pretty sweet.

Funny thing is my older mower is also an LT1000, so I am very familiar with this model. I don't think I'll have a hard time selling my older mower for $150 once I'm done. So maybe I'll be in the new mower for about $50 bucks. Which I'm ok with. Then those $150 will go right back to my pocket to offset my Saturday expenses. :-D

This was a good weekend for block grinders. I spied this one in pictures for an estate sale that started Saturday. Nice running 1/3 UP Craftsman Crown label grinder. The scratched off areas had a bane there apparently. Spent $40 for the grinder and another $13 for the Stanley hatchet head.

EDIT. I didn't complete this earlier. The Stanley hatchet head, Enderes 4 in 1 screwdriver and various consumables were $13. The hatchet had to the left of the Stanley is a Keen Kutter for $6 and to the left of that is a Craftsman Professional screwdriver for $2.50. The last picture is 7 wrenches for $14 from the flea market.

Found another sale with some tools / been slim pickings so far this year. Once again about 20th in line but snagged a few things - I’ve been looking for a dial indicator and this little Ames set just happened to say hello to me , (I’ve posted in the vintage section as I need some help setting it up) , railroad track anvil that someone made very well, Beard knock out punch set , Wilton 406 C clamps and a inflatable #2 NASCAR for the kiddo. Guy says 40 didn’t even haggle.

Mine was missing, too. But I have the photos and specs from a guy who has one. I will PM you in a day or two. I'm on the road.

There. Just finally got caught up with this thread.

Sadly I still don't have a darn thing to show for this year, hasn't been a sale posted in all of 2018 yet. Hoping it changes in the next 2-3 weeks because I've got the itch.

Nice score on the Wilton! But your comment about the fun of the hunt - you are right on!

No scores for me last week - was in Japan visiting my grandkids on spring break, but I did get to a great outdoor antique market, and some resale shops. Thus I enjoyed the fun of the hunt while on Vacation! Here's a sample, but the prices were antique market high... not flea market prices.

Yes sir.. picking at the flea, antique store, or online.. all the same “fun”..
Those items you’re picturing look like my type of “stuff”-but as you said, it’s got to be the right money...

Nothing to keep tools in place. Spark plug socket was a 13/16. Lid was separated from the bottom. Here's a pic.

Okay, for the few things I didn't buy but were kind of interesting...

Some sort of aluminium hammer? Really odd shape, very light. No idea what it was used for. Anyone know??? No markings, sides were ground on, probably like that from the factory.

Some Craftsman Crowntop staples and old glue gun. I found so many old Craftsman stuff from the 80's today in their original boxes it was crazy...

I also saw a CMan scroll saw in the box, almost mint, it was only $10 but I already have one, and I have a cordless one on the way.

First Estate Sale, got there about 30 min early (at least) and already a good line. People were staying in line until they opened up the garage. The guy asked everyone to stay back so they could pull things out of the isles and put in driveway. I helped the guy remove the stuff from the garage but some people wedged themselves in there to get first pickings. I saw one guy grab a large Stanley plane that was an item I was hoping to grab too. :(

I'm sure there were a couple things I missed, but I still did pretty darn good. First thing I went for that I saw online was some metal SK boxes. The 1/4"-drive set is complete SK Wayne. The 3/8" drive set is also SK Wayne but missing the ratchet (I have plenty though), and I *think* maybe one of the deep sockets (which I also spares of). I bet the ratchet & socket are somewhere together, who knows where...

Next thing I saw were the Green Handle Craftsman screwdrivers! Grabbed all those (because seriously, who would buy just one or two?)

There were a lot of nice hand saws but some guy went straight for those and was inspecting each one and took all but the Craftsman. I can only imagine the value of the others, I'm sure he made out like a bandit.

Dremel 395, super nice shape. The manual is dated 3/95, the 175+ uses book is dated like 1989. The collet nut is a style I haven't seen before, this must be an old model. The book says printed in USA, the blow-mold case says made in USA. The Dremel just says Racine, WI... So is it made in USA too???

I finally found a stop for my existing CMan wood screw pilot bits. But it was right next to a pack of bits that obviously it went to (even though priced separate). I just couldn't be an *** an only buy the stop so I got them all. lol

Bought some CMan wrenches (like I really needed them), the open end has that cut style so you can kind of ratchet it.

Hand plane is a Sears, made in England, so I'm guessing Stanley.

Found a small hammer, it says "Playskool" on top! Figured it had to be pretty old for a kids toy to have a metal hammer!

Other hammer is a Plumb fiberglass... can't go wrong with those.

Craftsman brand utility knife... Made in Germany??? That was new to me.

Found an older Canon EOS Rebel FILM camera, my friend's daughter is really into photography and he told me to be on the look out for stuff like that.

Finally, a folding roller stand.

Spent a total of $65 there. Guy gave me a bundle deal. ;)

Quick pic from estate sale listing. Here's all the saws, no idea why the guy was buying up all the others but left the one CMan (and it's in near mint shape too, even had the guard on the teeth).

I was even polite and asked if he was going to buy that one, and he said, "naaa.." lol.. okay.

I see from other pics in the sale I missed out on some long clamps. :( Also had a nice big fan that would have been handy. Oh, there was a METAL old-school Kreg Jig! I didn't buy it as I have two that work great and this one didn't really look as adjustable. But another guy I was talking to about them was interested so I handed it to him and he bought it. There were also other things I wanted but they price things to SELL and stuff goes QUICK.

Second Estate Sale, was a hoarders paradise. Lots of knick-knacks...

Saw the Crowtop blow-mold case for $15, opened it up and it was a newer (but still USA) CMan ratchet. Still had the sticker on it too, I had to peel that off to see it was a USA. The sockets are -v- series and the extras I didn't look too close but they are USA. The extensions are Snap-On & Proto.

The little coping saw was a CMan USA. The blade on mine broke and was a different size that I didn't have any blades that fit. For the price I was able to just buy this one and all the spare blades I found somewhere should fit it, so can't complain about that.

Stanley tape measure was $2, I like the small ones when doing short measures. Just doesn't make sense to fight the 30' model when you are doing things 2' or 3'...

Spray was $1 and basically full...

Third (Garage) Sale...

Nice older family, guy was a retired contractor, had real nice garage, just trying to get rid of some extra stuff he didn't use. My neighbor bought a nice 22" or 24" acer monitor, haggled the guy down from $10 to $3!!! It didn't have the cables (Just power & DVI), but heck for that price you can't go wrong.

He had a nice compact projector there asking $20 and it needed a bulb, had HDMI and other inputs. I just wouldn't have a use for it so I left it.

He also had this nice Craftsman router, asking $30 for it. I talked him down to $20. He always had it on his router table, and lost the base plate (along with other accessories like the 1/2" collet). It has the soft-start feature, is a variable speed, micro adjust... Super nice... I'm so happy this blows away my old router. I can order a new base plate & 1/2" collet for cheap, which I don't even have any 1/2" bits right now anyhow. My old plate might fit on this newer model I'll have to check. I can also put my old router on my router table and just leave it there. Win!

I forgot there was a nice double-shotgun hard case he had, and it was probably cheap. I looked at it and turned my head for a second and forgot about it. Unfortunately they live pretty far away, not really worth the drive just for that one thing, and it probably sold today anyhow.

Fourth (Estate) Sale...

Wasn't too sure about this one after walking through the door, but we were on a roll finding good stuff so was hoping the streak would continue.

Garage was really oddball stuff, by some random miracle I was able to find (I think 5) 4x36 USA made belts for my stationary sander, and also some sanding discs!

A bunch of basically full packs of 18ga finishing nails that I use the snot out of in my cordless nailer.

An Indestro puller.

A blue box for $1.. Hmm... I opened it up and it had cardboard on both ends... The curious person I am pulled out my pocket knife to pull out the cardboard... and what do I find? A long 'C' Craftsman box! Looked like it originally held some wrenches but they removed the brackets! The cardboard helped keep the logo in good shape.

The "Soda King" just made me laugh when I saw it. Box looked like something straight out of the 70's! I really didn't know what to expect, but for $2 I knew I would get a good laugh.

I get home and open it up, OMG the gold flake paint job looks like something a pimp would own. The CO2 bottles were weird how they are like crimped in the middle.

.....

And that's the haul for today. We hit one more garage sale on the way home, I didn't find anything but my neighbor did. So basically every stop we made we found something. I like days like this!

I used to have that same dremel Kit. I used that thing pretty hard and it lasted 20yrs before the magic smoke inside finally escaped. Had to run out and buy a new one in the middle of a project to finish.

Love the SK boxes, nice catch.

Yeah I have the same model dremel, just not *that* old, probably late 90's. I've used the snot out of it and it just keeps going.

I was looking at all the bits for this one I just got, probably 95% haven't even been used!

Cool, haven't seen a hammer like that before. I would've bought it for <$2. ;) This page has some current-production aluminum hammers and describes why someone might want one (working on something made of aluminum, non-sparking, etc), but none that light/small/odd-shaped: http://www.hammersource.com/Aluminum-Hammers/

We went to an estate sale in San Rafael this morning. The ad didn’t mention tools but I found a few things. The PowrKraft wrenches are sourced from Barcalo. The most interesting find was the complete DOE wrench set marked “Made in occupied Japan” on the holder.

We went to an estate sale in San Rafael this morning. The ad didn’t mention tools but I found a few things. The PowrKraft wrenches are sourced from Barcalo. The most interesting find was the complete DOE wrench set marked “Made in occupied Japan” on the holder.

Yeah it is a really weird shape. Small striking area and I just don't know the weight was next to nothing. It just didn't make any sense... Almost like the ends were ground down as an afterthought. If I bought it I know it would just sit and never be used.

I dunno, I'm going to try and do some more rounds tomorrow, I'll probably swing back by all the places I went today and see what is still there.

Yeah, and they were basically free too... hehe...

Jason, you ****. Have not seen those green Craftman drivers in years!

Also maybe someone here can tell me about this corner vise. I've never seen one like this where it's on a base? It had very shallow clamp, I don't really know what you would hold in it. Seemed pretty fine thread and you can see the two big knobs on the ends instead of just the usual sliding handles.

Wish I took a picture (this is cropped from the listing) or even just looked it over better but it was one of those things that you set down and forget to go back and look at.
