Hey guys, not garage related, but work related for me. We have a multi story building, and had to abate the old VCT on the 3rd floor. There are numbered tiles at the elevator doors on every floor, but the ones for this floor got destroyed during abatement. I have not been able to find a source for 12x12 VCT with inlaid numbers. The existing tiles were black with white numbers, but the new tiles do not have to match, just need numbers at the elevator doors on each floor. Anybody know of a source?
Thanks

Sounds like a job for a router inlay and number template.
Just be aware that VCT tiles will be very abrasive on your router bit.

Agree, this could be a laser or water jet cut job, but if you want something inexpensive, we can custom make commercial grade 'floor graphics' like they use in supermarkets with sequential numbers any size you want and these graphics would have a protective polyurethane wear layer with built in non skid surface and can be easily cleaned with commercial floor scrubbers.

If at some time in the future they get beat up, they are inexpensively replaced.

We use these in firehouses on our SupraTile floors.

The originals were likely cut by hand . with patience and sharp knife you could do it. My part time tile guy is great at this stuff .
Is there a wall where you an locate the floor number instead?

They waterjetted the ones at the local daycare here. They double stacked them with a slight offset to account for the width of the jet. The ones with numbers or letters inside they had to do 2 cuts and adjust the size of figure being cut so they would fit perfectly.

Router inlay templates compensate for this automatically with collars sized to account for the tool size on inside and outside cuts.

My guess is that if they were a one off done by a sign shop, they were originally cut with a CutAwl. And if something they made a lot of, were probably done with templates and a pantograph machine.
