I buy mine from Cripe Distributing- they have a ever-changing inventory of good name brand blades at really good prices, usually in 5-packs for around a buck a blade.. I've used Dewalt, Bosch. Lenox, Makita-have had good luck with most of the name brands.

I use Diable Carbide blades. They are designed for heavy metal. If it's thinner metal, I use the Diablo metal cutting demo blades.

I did this with only one used Lenox Gold blade.
The blade pic is after the cut.
I dipped it in water throughout.
Heat will cook ANY recip blade.

Milwaukee.. for sure.. they are THICK, quality blades that will not just bend if they bind up slightly.. at my last job, I used only Diablo until the Milwaukee's came out. After using the Milwaukees, I think I had 200 delivered and given out to the rest of the guys I worked with. They make thin kerf blades as well, but the regular blades seem to be the best I've used. I don't buy any others.

You are better off cutting slower on thick metal with a sawzall. Excessive heat will kill any blades. This is a good demo

Ya match the tooth count to the material/thickness

I have always had used Lenox on my job as it was easily found and always work great but the new Milwaukee blades are real good too

I have a couple of 100 ct box of Dewalt 14tpi 4808's I sell off on my tool table so I often just use them as needed :D

They are ok for middle of the road cuts on most things

The Diablo carbide extreme metal blades are hands down the best metal blades I have ever used. I used Milwaukee Torch before, these are 10x better. If I can't have a torch, I'll take these.

I have cut all variety of steel and cast iron. A lot of first responders use them to take apart cars.
