I know if you do a herbrand search it appears.

Not for me.

I have a bunch of automatic searches set up in eBay (not eBay Motors) and "Herbrand" is included in one of them. I just looked and your item didn't show, so I figured my parameters were too narrow.

I continued to widen them until I was simply searching for "Herbrand" under "All Categories" and it still doesn't appear. You're missing out on potential customers & I on potential items... :headscrat:mad:

BWP, what did you miss out on? Sounds like it has been several items.

I hope I'm innocent...I feel the same way most weeks!

I don't get it on my searches either but I think the problem is he only has shipping down as US.Searching on Ebay.ca will only give you items the seller will ship to Canada. If the seller only ships US it won't show up.

I feel your pain. Some one ...HERE, who will remain nameless..... keeps out bidding/sniping me on Plomb WF stuff. This person is also driving the prices WAY up on some stuff. Its kind of a game now. I can tell who it is when I bid.

I will ship to Canada!!!

I have no doubt but unless it says so in your ebay add us canucks don't even see the add. Also pretty sure if we see it on US ebay it won't let us bid if were registered as being in Canada.I've tried to bid on things that way in the past and had the bid rejected.

This doesn't normally cause me a problem.

I just signed on to eBay Motors directly and I can see the item directly under Jason's Items For Sale and by searching "Herbrand". So the problem is that an item listed on eBay Motors is not necessarily available to other eBay users. That makes absolutely no sense.

I use Ebay.ca which doesn't even have ebay motors. The only way I see things that won't ship to Canada is to log into ebay.com.I rarely do it because I see too much stuff I want that people don't want to ship to me.Torture!

I know which set you are talking about and I could not believe the price. It is not in line with what those wrenches should cost...a 9 piece set for $277? I don't think so. The only thing I can see driving up value is that they look like the style associated with the coveted Bonneys and the pouch was in good condition. But the price is still bloated.

Sometimes, I wonder if I am bidding against that guy from AA...he must have his hands in a lot of these.

And btw, threads like this one temporarily drive up prices IMO!

T56 and BWP, how do you know who is bidding against you, anyway, since the bidding names are blocked out and you would not be able to correlate them to people here unless they used the same GJ screen name....

Lets just say that I know this person well enough to know:

a. What he is looking for

b. His bidding style

c. How he counters my bids

We kid around a little about it on the side too. Sometimes I feel like smacking him though!

The highest bidder always wins. Doesn't matter when you put the bid in.

There are different types of bidders.

Bidder A) Enters their max bid, and lets the dice role.
Bidder B) Bids what they want to pay first. Then they check back the next day, see they were out bid, and up their bid to stay in front.

Sniping does nothing to help you against Bidder A, but it does prevent Bidder B from re-uping his bid. They could lead to you "stealing" the auction at the end before Bidder B has a chance to react, or at least prevents Bidder B from running up the price on you.

When I bid:

1st bid is what I want to pay.

2nd bid is to see who is seriously bidding.

3rd bid is what I am willing to pay. If I'm out bid, then so be it.

Gadzooks, when did this Herbrand mania strike? I've low-balled lots of Herbrand odds and ends just to get them out of here and to someone who wanted them. I had a couple of Herbrand tappet wrenches which I had to give away on eBay as part of a big odd lot because no one here wanted them.

thnx, jack vines

I did not see those, Jack.

I wouldn't call this mania, though. There are only a few of us on this site that actively look for that brand...I think Moose is just experimenting!
