Dang Snap-On Dual 80 Ratchets!!!!!

Anyone else have a problem removing the little torx screws from them? What are they, a T-10, 15? Can't remember. What size are the threads? I want to put flat headed screws in there.....

I found this out not because I broke one, but because I was trying to put some Red Lube of Love in there!!!

The 3/8" drive are T10 if I remember correctly.

The F830 and F936 are T8 I know for sure.

It's probably T15 or T20 for 1/2" drive.

My Torx bits are from MAC. When you touch the two brands together, something weird happens and the bolts always wound up stripped and a pain to take out!!

Its not the two brands that are a problem...its the one brand and I think you know which that is!

I use a Craftsman T15 driver on my 1/2" ratchets because I'm too lazy to get the flashlight out to search in my bit collection.

Let me fully visualize your situation, you were trying to put the evil RLL into a brand new S80 series ratchet, that you have now stripped out at least one of the Torx screw heads? there was nothing wrong with the ratchet before you started to disasemble it, I see now.

It wasn't my fault, I swear! I'm telling you, something evil happened when the MAC and SO touched each other. It was like crossing the streams!

Dual 80s, IMO dont need RLL. They are damn near perfection out of the box.

I do custom gun smithing on the side (for the last 15 or so years). Our US Military uses this in their armories...... & I wouldn't use anything other than:

I also use it in all my offshore reels after I get back from a trip. Rinse the reels with fresh water & Salt-X, then I use CLP. Works freaking great. I also started using it to clean my ratchets, then I use the Break free lube.

Hey I use that stuff too, mkdive. I've only ever used it on guns, but it sure does a great job there.
