Today I attended an estate sale and picked up this Troy Built tiller $150.
It has a newer motor and runs great.
It appears that it was mfg 1-15-79
It’s a 20” unit
Now I need to get ahold of a users manual.
I have been looking for one to prep a few areas that I cannot get my
Tractor into.

That's a nice score, especially for $150, looks ready to go to work. I just finished "restoring" my grandpa's old 1968 Horse. Replaced the old and tired Tecumseh with the same HF special engine you've got on yours, new belts and tires. No tiller for the tractor yet, so it did a lot of work this spring, handled it like a champ.

I gave up gardening for two reasons.

1) I can't grow anything.

The only thing I can grow well is tomatoes (I love them and lost of the grandkids do also) an zucchini (but mine come out looking like Fred Flintstone clubs !)

Tomatoes was really the only thing I wanted to grow. Old timer I knew told me his secrete. He grew tomatoes the size of softballs.
I followed his method down to a T. 4'-5' deep hole and filled with his concoction of potting soil, minerals, planting the plant at the perfect depth, correct watering, etc.
All I got was tomatoes smaller than a baseball and no where near the great taste his had.
I gave up :headscrat

Yesterday I checked the gear case, and it was all reddish and foamy ?
So I drained it, and had to flush it. I filled it with diesel and ran it for a few minutes.
Then was confident to refill it with fresh gear oil..
It was probably never changed since 1979 !
