Has anyone else gotten the impression that Lowe's has been messing with its prices recently? It seems like they're jacking up prices in advance of upcoming Memorial Day and Fathers' Day "sales."
Here's an example: just a week or two ago, item #875251 was selling for $499 at stores that had it in stock, and $299 online (for delivery) if your store didn't have it in stock. That's weird to begin with, but now the prices are $649 and $499, respectively.
I've also seen old in/out (IO) items resurfacing at inflated prices. According to the posts above, the Stanley tool box with 81-piece mechanics set (item #905942) sold for as little as $10 not long ago, and now it's "clearance" priced at $79 (supposedly reduced from $99). Similarly, a 300-piece Kobalt mechanics set with foam trays (item #856855) has a "New Lower Price" of $399 (supposedly reduced from $499), but the product's ratings reveal that people have routinely bought it for $150 or so. WTF!?!
