Hello All,

Do locking ratchet spinners, or quick release spinners exist? I love my QR ratchets, and want to use the same feature if I put a spinner on it.

Like below, but with a QR or locking feature. Thanks everyone for any and tip or suggestions!!!

I'm trying hard to picture how a spinner like pictured could even have a quick release function, but I'm coming up empty. :headscrat

I'm not saying they don't exist, just that I'm totally unfamiliar with anything like that and can't even imagine how something like that would work. Where would the QR button go?

You might be happier with on old Craftsman RHFT ratchet with quick release & a knurled spinner built in. Just saying.

I do luv mine. Even compared to some of today's best ratchets that I also luv, these still rank right up there with the best of them imho.

you can use the type thats thin like a washer with a square hole in the center and knurling on the outer edge. It just goes on the ratchet and then you put the socket on.

Completely forgot about those. Does anyone still make them? IIRC Craftsman used to call it a speed adapter set or thumbwheel adapter set or some such, but haven't seen anything like that in a long time now. Might still be able to find an old set on ebay or the like.

That would not meet the OP's requirements unless it also has a quick release function. I think he's looking for one like that but with a QR button on the side of the spinner. IIIC!

The ones pilotmotor mentioned probably would because they are just a spinner/thumbwheel and you retain your ratchet's own drive and it's quick release if it has one.

Found a picture of the old Craftsman ones (Craftsman 44191 Ratchet Speed Adapter set) FWIW I don't currently see any on ebay.:

I've not ever used them though. Though they look thin and that's what they are made to do, I wonder if they might or might not interfere with the ratchet being able to lock on a socket sometimes. I imagine the results may vary depending on the ratchet and sockets used.

You could use a round head QR ratchet with a built in spinner ring, like old protos (not sure if the new ones work like that too?)
