Hey guys, so I'm having a band play at my place, they need 6000 watts available, 2 20 amp, can I use a 6500 watt generator for their equipment, thanks. Tony

So you need a generator that is rated to run continuously at 4800 Watts

Should be ok. If their equipment is designed to work on two 20 amp circuits, that would include some margin to keep from popping a 20 amp breaker at max sound output.
That means that actual power required will be, at most, 16-18 amps, or around 4000 watts.
That’s a lot of music volume. Should drown out the generator noise, at least.

I wouldn't run any sensitive electronics on a normal generator. their power output is junk, plus they are loud.

This - check the THD on the generator and ask the band if their equipment can stand the trashy power. Unless your generator is a Honda 7000is.
