Oh lordy, I was just following the assembly diagram and it shows the bolts coming up from the bottom of the cart. This means that you got the nuts and washer on the shelf, this looked really wrong to me and I checked a video and it is. On another page in the instructions it shows the bolts going the correct way... lol.

edit: and I am six nuts short. They gave me way, way too many with the rubber washer built in. My car wife's car is on jackstands and she has the other one at work. Awesome.

Yeah, the blue one probably had all the correct hardware and good instructions. :lol_hitti (sorry, you left the door open so wide, I just had to.:bounce: )

lol... deserved. I took an uber to home depot since everyone is at work and I'm off this week.

Pelican: I have roughly ~20 of the gas strut bolts ?_? I ended up having to buy 8 in total of the shorter 13mm bolts!!

Really should have read the thread fully though. A video I watched a few days ago mentioned tons of "gotcha" stuff during assembly and he still missed some

LOL yea... I tried to spew out a few gotcha stuff on these fine pages after watching a few Youtubes where they messed up and read a bunch of reviews where they obviously didn't know what they were doing.

Over the years... I have attached more stuff to my 5 drawer cart that has never been documented... it is truly my tool workhorse. Mind you... I don't move it around much. I positioned it in the right spot for what I use it for.

My driveway is not too slanted to the street but it's slanted enough that it makes rolling the heavy cart dangerous outside. Plus I have that silly lip at the end of the garage... I wish I could move the cart outside more... but that's more a problem with my house than a problem with the cart.

Thanks! Really hard to beat any of these carts or cabinets from HF. I actually have 2 of the Yukon benches. The first one I modded to house a little pancake air compressor so I can atleast use a blow gun in the reloading room. I also added the HF multi plug in strip on the back. The 2nd one is still stock. I love them. Coupons out there for $199 now. Unbeatable buy in my book.

Need more info on the reloading room. Presses etc... lathe cart is nice

Can anyone confirm for me that part numbers 61646 / 61648, the blue 5" swivel casters, are a direct height / hole spacing replacement for the stock casters on the Gen II 5-drawers? I'd like to assemble mine with four swivels right out of the box, replacing the pair of rigids.

Thanks

You need the big wheel mod. These add so much weight down low it adds stability.

Has someone made a list of the most common mods and where to get the parts? Or at least just a list...

If they did, it's lost in the thread somewhere.
For it to be findable, it would have to be done by the originator of the thread and added to the first post.
Otherwise, it would just get buried in the discussion every time it was posted.

I guess I'll do it then and add an easily searchable key word... this thread is impossible to find what I need. I've used thread specific search and site wide search for these common mods talked about and it's like pulling teeth. I at least need to get the two non swivel casters off my cart ASAP as I work in a very small space

Ok, that is badass!

Are those 8 or 10 inch? Do they use the original mounting holes?

Those are definitely the wheels I need on the cart... I have a yard cart with tires exactly like that... I use it often as a work surface, tool carrier in the yard.

My biggest fear with the cart with wheels like that... Falling over... No surfaces outside of my garage... is flat.

Hey guys......I just recently acquired a Snap-on badge and want to "modify" my HF 5 drawer cart with it

I'd like to get youse guy's opinion on where you think it'll look the best (I'll be drilling 3 holes to mount it :eyecrazy:)

The two images of the carts are not mine.....just two random frontal shots I got from a google search, that I did my pitiful redneck photo-shopping on.....

Please choose which one you like (and the reason why) from the following options.....and thanks in advance for your input

They are 8 inch, and not only do they mount in a different manner, I moved the lower shelf to accommodate them. Check out this post for details. And I was worried about it being tippy, but as I said, they add so much steel down low, stability is improved.

It's called, "making it your own." Sometimes because the emblem might be for a manufacturer you like/own. Sometimes to confuse your friends :headscrat Sometimes to "complete a look" you are going for or to eliminate a non-cohesive font style.

The large sticker on the lid should come off very easy......in fact I considered removing mine (still may do it) and I picked at one corner and it seem to be an easy decal to remove.......

I say go for it
