Tig Welder for welding aluminum

Dynasty 200 is outdated I think... if you visit the miller site, they have mentioned no longer have replacement parts. 
saying that, I do have the dynasty 200DX that would be **** if that happens one day. I think their latest gen of 200 series is the Dynasty 210...
I think a lot of people are happy with alpha tig... for 1/3 of the price here. I think even the HF unit got a good review... well not sure about their tig machines.... Mig they have....
In reality, any AC capable machine would work. but still takes some practice... but I would stick with major manufacture brands... Miller, Lincoln, and few off brands I don't remember... but they are a real welder company not a tool company....

How much do you want to spend? That's going to really narrow down the search.
As already mentioned a bunch of members have had good experiences with the Alpha Tig, for much much cheaper than any of the blue team machines. Yesterday I was doing a little aluminum work on our Dynasty 350, so there's quite a spectrum.
I think the Dynasty 210DX is about the best "garage" sized welder you can buy, but it comes at a relatively steep price.

Yep, the 2 factors are budget and material thickness.
Bottom end, I recommend a Lincoln Squarewave TIG 200. I personally won't buy welders from sources I can't have serviced at my LWS.
HTP makes a good machine, but I personally have not used one.
If you have high capacity needs, a Syncrowave 350 can be had for $2500 or so.
If you have lots of money or will be using it for paying jobs I would get a Dynasty. 210 for smaller, 400 for bigger.

TIG isn't the only way to weld aluminum. The Propulse 200 MIG is frankly a better option if your doing aluminum over 1/8". If it's got to be TIG then HTP 220 if you've got $2,500 and AHP Alpha-Tig 200X if you don't. The Alpha TIG is the best value in the welding world without question. Buy a decent foot petal for the machine from SSC. Alpha TIG will do anything a weekend warrior needs for 1/4" aluminum or thinner. Has more features than welders costing 3X.

AHP Alpha Tig200. I weld aluminum cylinder heads with mine and it hasn't let me down yet. I got the SSC pedal for mine about a year ago and it is a great addition there is also another pedal out there that looks a lot like the SSC that kkroger is using on his Alpha, but I can't remember the name of it.

X2 on the AlphaTIG. 200 amps, $710 delivered to my door. I've only had it for a short time now, but I've very impressed so far, especially for the price. Expect to wait 4-6 weeks for delivery due to demand, but it's worth it. There are typically several listings on Amazon at different price points. Cheapest I found was $680 plus $30 shipping.
