just hung out and watched the figure skating competition. I think some team from washington won. If i watch sport i have to do it in the garage, cause i like to yell and the kiddo is sleeping in the house.

(In my best Tom Hanks hick accent)

"There no yelling in Figure Skating!!!..."

Tinkered with the Ramcharger. Just admired it and tightened a leaking fuel pump. Hope my main seal is not leaking.

Been bust around the cottage & garage today. Cleaned up around the garage, dragged some scrap metal, bikes etc to the curb so the neighbor could grab it it for scrap yard. Tore wood of old trailer, measured for replacement springs - friend will weld hangers on for me. Cut the front lawn.

More fun to follow.....

Had a friend use his TIG welder to weld-up some stock aluminum angle-iron I got yesterday. It's to hang a mini-split on the gable end of a 1-car garage. It is 2" X 2" X 1/4" and is 'way-overbuilt. The compressor unit is 81 lbs. & the instructions say, 4" clearance from the wall if you're mounting it off the ground. I gave it 6" just in-case. They also say, the brackets should be capable of supporting 4X the weight of the unit. I believe this qualifies. I only had it upside-down to fit the brackets. Done w/a Miller 250 Synchrowave.

Installed new used radiator in my classic 1990 Prelude. Recharged the AC as well. I blew a high side hose due to a defective condenser fan. Head pressure got high and hose was near headers; just a poor combo.

Now rad is good. Fans all work and nice and cold. Cheers [emoji482]

I moved some stuff around to make room for the new riding mower. I picked up a Troy Built 30. I love this thing, despite it cutting a smaller path than my poulan riding mower. I've always wanted a snapper/gump style mower and this is my first.

last two days: put a new set of tires on the hose reel, should be good for at least another 100k..........at $4 a piece at HF it's just not worth bothering to try and fix the old ones.

Change the oil and filter in my F250 diesel 15 quarts of Delvac. since the filter holds two quarts of oil I take a scratch awl and put a hole in the bottom of the filter and let the oil drain out before I loosen it..............makes it a little lighter and less messy, wish I could say I thought of that on my own but someone else coined that idea, can't remember where I seen it, maybe on GJ.

Got a chance to try out my Mity Vac extractor to put fluid in the rear end, works nice.

bad news I found a bad lower ball joint on the drivers side..........so that's the next project upper and lower ball joints.

Arrg! Trying to get motivated to change the oil in two of my vehicles.

Today is an idealic summer day. 75F, sunny, low humidity, slight breeze. I just want to sit on the deck and browse Garage Journal.

Not sure if this counts, but I just went nuts spraying insect killer as my new garage was inundated by ********* ants.

Well, I forced myself to get up off my *** and do something. Changed the oil, ATF spill and fill and flushed the brake fluid. Scrubbed the Spring gunk off the floor mats, too.

Finally cut the suspension loose from the old snowmobile trailer. Kept the axle, brought springs and misc metal pieces to the neighbor who collects metal for scrap. Next step will be to service bearings, or maybe I'll decide to replace everything - springs, axles, hubs etc.

Detailed my convertible with Croftgate Project X.
Put in a bigger shelf stereo in the garage.
Sorted thru a bunch of stuff I got from a friend who is moving to Arizona to retire and didn't want a lot of stuff....including the stereo.

boy I know that feeling..........we wait all winter for the weather to warm up so we can do some projects in the barn, then when the weather does warm up you just want to sit and enjoy it.

First, I spent a couple hours mowing on the tractor . Tractor maintenance. Found a sheared pin on the turnbuckle next to the 3 point lifting arm, greased all moving joints, and took it outside for a thorough washing.

Tinkered on the Bronco a bit.

Gave the daily driver an oil change.

Did some tidying up around the shop. This is a seemingly endless task. I’m always finding another nook or cranny that needs to be swept out, some broken pieces of junk, etc. I’m forever finding old stuff to restore or part out. I can sort hardware for ages.

Had a really busy weekend.

First thing I did was teach my MP CNC machine how to cut Vinyl.

Then on Sunday, My daughter wanted to build a bookshelf for some little books she got at Hobby Lobby. She did all the work except for ripping the pine down on the bandsaw.

This picture tries to show the scale of what we were dealing with.

Woke up Sunday morning at 3 am, couldn't sleep. Went out to the garage and organized everything, put away, sorted, dumped....finally found the top of my workbench for the first time in a year. Then I went to my basement woodshop and did the same thing.

Trouble shooting and working on the Mustang, not only am I having shifting issues, it appears the engine was balanced to 50 rather than 28 oz. After the TKO comes out today, it'll be another road trip up to Summit for a balancer counterweight and a new SFI flywheel.

I'm glad I took yesterday off work and as I laid under the car swapping balancers, thought to myself, I'm enjoying this.

I'm starting to suspect the same issue on mine. I bought a rebuilt 302 that was supposed to be a '68 block and crank with flat top pistons. I just seems to vibrate too much and the C4 transmission has gone out on it. I'm getting ready to pull both this weekend. Already have a rebuilt transmission to go back in. I have to check the crank and balancer to verify they are correct. May just be a bad balancer.

Didn't do much on the weekend, had a few events to attend and a round of golf to play yesterday.

Tonight I put a new set of shoes on the utility trailer I have joint custody of, damn thing is nearly an inch taller now. I think they were due to be changed...

40932698180_d7cdaa4c94_c.jpg

To work on the trailer I had to move the car and truck, which made me notice that my neighbor had cut her lawn that borders my driveway and shot the grass on my pave, so out came the Stihl blower and the grass is back on her lawn.

After replacing the truck in its regular parking spot I took my golf clubs out of the box, which lead to me finally fixing my 4-iron I somehow "broke" last year.

Just sold my VW pick up and a Kubots Tractor and I can't believe how much floor space that was just freed up. Grab that shop vac and start sweeping.

Spent most of Sunday building a transport cradle for an engine my father was going to haul to his winter place (in AZ) as well as prepping a welder for transport (and loading them both into his truck).
