Sweet!
What's with the corrugated tray on top? Keeps stuff from rolling off?
Details, please.

I the beading is there to stiffen the panel. Oddly enough, the two metal ridges sticking up on each end on the metal top are retractable - I assume so that you can put a flat surface on top and also have something to engage slots on the underside of a top chest.

LOS - ha! right indeed.

A friend of mine went to an auction and picked this up for me, he knew I'd been wanting one for quite some time... Not bad for $60.00

Got a link to those?
Yeah, but it was a warehouse deal with one item in stock for $18:

Stanley Proto J274XL Proto 11-5/12-Inch Locking Aluminum Alloy C-Clamp Pliers https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BMJD4JM/?tag=atomicindus08-20

The ones I actually bought Friday for $12 (also a 1-in-stock warehouse deal) was these, which arrived today:

Grip-On 134-12 12-Inch Steel C-Clamp Locking Pliers https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001G0MH18/?tag=atomicindus08-20

I haven't posted much lately but here is my big score for the day....Harbor Freight 3/8" impact extension set. Cost me a whopping $6.04 out the door. As much of a Snap on junkie as I am, I couldn't justify the price for the Snap on set. I had it ($100) and sold it. Didn't make sense to me for a non-critical tool. Free flashlight for my kids, of course.

While I was there I checked out the new series of boxes. Very impressive for the price. I wasn't super impressed with the drawer lock system on the 56"+ boxes. The 44" still had a soft close system which seemed a little nicer. Personal preference, I guess. Overall looked like a good buy as was the previous generation.

Careful with those extensions. I’ve sheared everyone I had

Thanks for the heads up. I'll be using them with a 3/8" Milwaukee M12 impact. The single Sunex impact extension I have seems to be holding up well. Hopefully it doesn't beat the HF up too bad. I personally don't like using chrome on impacts regardless of what other people do.

Seems to be pretty bright. It was free so I can't complain much. Usually the kids leave them running and kill the batteries or break them in some other form. Not sure how. But it keeps them away from my good flashlights. :lol_hitti

I’ve always used an oil can when threading on the mill. It’s worked well but even just a little squirt can be way more than is needed. I’ve always wanted to switch to apply using an acid brush but I’ve been too lazy to slice a container that prevents spills. Saw these in a post and got one for tapping oil (steels) and one for lube (aluminums).

Not a tool, but storage.

I bought these today for me- early fathers day gift.

These will replace the lunch meat type containers I have from Kroger, storing drill bits, picture hanger type stuff and the like that we have at our condo on Tybee.

Home Depot had them for $19.99, my military discount helped, $17.99 x 2 !

Some upgrades. Man, those long pattern wrenches are works of art. The 19mm impact socket is to replace a Craftsman I wore out, and the T25 bit socket is to replace the first tool I've ever lost.

Those are awesome when you got a socket on a spark plug and you need to dial in the square drive to line up with the socket or extension.

Got in a few things today. 2 USA made 14 piece SAE 12 point combo sets in a tool roll, along with a 24 tooth Proto ratchet and a 5/16 nut driver for hose clamps at work. All of this for less than 160 bucks. IMG_20180614_120047.jpeg

can we count tools that have been hiding under an old toolbox in the garage for years but we just cleaned off the ancient grease and rust?

14e5egl.jpg

i should have taken a before picture but i thought about that after i was pretty far into the de-rusting... imagine the same thing but the one remaining screw was loose and the whole body of the ratchet was covered in brownish red

also if anyone knows where i might be able to get a replacement for the missing screw and maybe a switch for it since i imagine a rebuild kit isn't going to be available

New to me used Snap-on tools I picked up from a garage sale just down my street this morning. There was a few more Snappy tools there I would have liked to have grabbed but this is all I get for the $35 I had on me at the time. Torque Angle Gauge, 1/2 ratcheting breaker bar adapter, ignition wrenches, straight & bent snap ring pliers, black oxide (I think?) wrenches I'd never seen before, and what I believe is an exhaust pipe cutter.

EDIT: And later there was my order from tooltopia sitting on the porch when I got home. Mityvac silverline kit, 16oz reservoir, and a 16qt Hopkins oil container:

Just upgraded my wire crimpers. I was using a pair I got in college that I bought from Radio Shack. These Knipex are a substantial upgrade.

Today was an awesome day for tools.

I'll start with the 5 Bessey screw clamps I got. The price had dropped from about $90 to $13 and I used my amazon rewards. Paid $0. Get rewards from buying price dropped tools to get free tools. It's a beautiful thing. :)

Second free item...these Olfa box cutters. I signed up to recieve a free product a while back, and totally forgot about it. It was a cool surprise.

And lastly, something I paid for. Today was a good day. :bounce:

Recently purchased the Streamlight Stinger SwitchBlade folding work light, with wall mount charger for about $70 shipped (Hell of a deal). This light is USB Lith Ion, unlike the Streamlight Knucklehead which I have owned for about 6 years. Can't beat the lifetime warranty of Streamlight. The KnuckleHead was sent back for warranty repair about 2 times during its rough existence in the shop over 6 years and is still kicking as strong as every. Can't beat Streamlight work lights.
