Pipe bead roller

Any of you guys have a decent bead roller? I purchased one from Jegs and the design or supplier has changed. Without the silver plate the pipe would cut into the bottom block.

I've got a nice set of Parkers, but I doubt you really want to spend that kind of money, unless you do a lot of tubing. It would take about 5 bills to have a new kit on your doorstep....

What are you doing with the bead roller? Intercooler piping?

I use a HF beadroller with some slight mods.

I'll google it and take a look. Trying to make intercooler piping for me and few others. I might spend the money if it's a better beadroller.

I have the one pictured it works fine any time I used it.

I have a picture here with the pipe in the roller and it's getting a deep groove cut into it. That's after I deburr it and smooth the edges.

Can you move the rollers out and install a metal backer

More lubricant and less pressure. It should take a couple of passes with adjustments to make a good bead.

Jegs has the picture showing with the metal backer but I guess it doesn't come with one now.

I did try with lubing on the outside and inside but the bead roller would slip. So i just lube the inside now. I usually down light passes until I get the form bead.

I have seen vise grips modified to work as a beading tool If I was at home, I would post a pic, But you can google homemade vise grip beading tool
