Picked these two up over the past month; Very similar in construction and design; the handle, latch, and layout of the top tray are different. The size, corners, and design are identical.

A vintage tool box named 'Mike'?

Picked up this vintage tool box this past weekend with this interesting label. Looks like it could be original?

Thanks for the info. The box is definitely an early Simonsen.

I read thru the 'comments' and seen that another guy has a box with the 'Mike' logo decal on his along with the Simonsen name. It'll be cleaned and put to use as a storage box.

Nice pickups! I'd love to have either of those boxes. Can we get a peek at the innards?

I have an old snap on box that was my grandpa's. Anybody know what era it's from?

He seems happy with the Plomb pebble combos I’ve been finding for him! Here are a few of his recent finds while I wasn’t watching closely enough.

Ryan_340, I could be wrong, but I am thinking its 1941-1945. Please look for the stamp, but I think it is K-37

Hello everyone I hope this is the right place for this. My great grandfather’s old craftsman box. I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction to find an age or photos of what this bo should look like. Original color seems to be a blueish color.

Thanks for any and all help

Nice inheritance box ! The craftsman crown top logo was used starting in the late 50’s and your box was made by amd. Open the drawer with the logo on it and see if there are numbers stamped in the drawer behind the number. That would be the date code

I picked up this small green tackle box from the same guy along with the 'Mike' tool box I posted on this Thread earlier.

Mainly what caught my eye was the cool green handle which has a fish design cast into it. I couldn't pass it up. The wife claimed it for herself.

Found this at a G sale today for $20. Couldn't leave it there. Been working on the castors. Gonna get it cleaned up over next day or two. The last pic shows whats behind the badge on the bottom drawer.

Can anyone ID this one? I don’t own it (yet) so these are the only pictures I have access to. The drawer pulls look like Waterloo or MBC....but I’ve never seen cutouts in a drop front like that or a top lid round off to the left and right.

The word "expert" can be used loosely. I think a more accurate statement would be "experienced".

I don't see a year of manufacture on the embossing which makes it at least pre-1956 (the earliest year I believe Advertising Metal Display Co - AMD stamped a year of manufacture). AMD later either was acquired by, or changed names to Remline (early 1960s). I haven't studied the evolution of the corporation yet.

Your box is early to mid 1950s and you deserve a "you ****" for paying only $20. Well done!

This long-c Craftsman carpenter's box came home with me today for a mere $10. I was with Provincial at a swap meet and I doubt he's ever seen cash fly out of a wallet so fast. It will make a nice addition to my wall of Craftsman tool boxes.

You guys have been finding some great boxes lately!
I'm starting to get full up on boxes, but that didn't stop this MAC TOOLS box from following me home today. Burgundy crinkle paint.

Hi everyone! I'm new here and I love this place already. A quick backstory before I show you my goods. About 6 weeks ago, my husband said to me, "if you love me, you will buy another tool box." The very next day, we went to a friends house whose husband had just passed away. He was a mechanic and she was liquidating everything. We picked up 8 boxes total with every drawer being filled to capacity. Here is a picture & list (before paint) of the 7 worth mentioning.

1. Snap on KRA-429 1963 2 drawer mid chest $37.50
2. Snap on KRA-377D 1973 8 drawer roll cab w/cover $37.50
3. Snap on KRA-274A 1983 3 drawer side box $37.50
4. MBC Century 1960’s? 2 drawer side box $37.50
5. Yorktown 1970? 2 drawer mid chest $37.50
6. Yorktown 1970? 6 drawer roll cab $37.50
7. Yorktown 1970? 11 drawer top chest w/lid & cover $37.50

With the exception of the SO mid box, all of the others had been sprayed red, but just on the outside. (Except for the overspray that coated many of the tools inside!!) I didn't like that so I painted them all their original color. It was the first time I had ever used a spray gun or prepped anything like this. I figured out how to do "body work" because many of the drawers were tweaked. I found a body hammer and two dollies in one of the drawers, these came in handy for the next batch as you will soon see.
