30x40 in NJ my build

Well after to many years of dreaming, I signed my contract and will be starting in a few weeks. Building a 30x40x13 from Legacy pole buildings . I sold my 12x24 shed and have to rip the lean to off this weekend. Neighbor bought my 12x24 shed for $200 and hooked up to it with his backhoe. Drug it right up the road a half mile from me.

30x40x13 ceiling height, 5 pitch scissor truss's , 6 windows, 1 man door , and framed for 12x12 garage door. 2ft overhangs both sides, gutters and front will have 3ft tall decorative stone . all fasteners and hardware USA. All pressure treated wood is ground contact . I got about 8 or 9 quotes and 4 were within 1500 . $28500 is where Im at plus concrete, spray foam and interior . Permit was 886

The only thing stamped I needed was for the truss's. Really need the rain to stop, really wet right now! My wife keeps asking how much taller will your garage be than the shed? Just a few feet, she's going to be shocked!

That's all my town requested to build my pole barn...just stamped drawings for the trusses.

Oddly enough, that's exactly the same question my wife asked me when I was going to build mine. Lol...as soon as the framing was up, she quickly realized it was not going to be a small "shed"

Finally was able to get my pad leveled and got two tri axle loads of 3/4 stone down along with drainage around back of where building is going. Yesterday the holes were dug and today concrete was poured for the posts. Monday starts the building. I'll post pictures.

I have serious water issues when we get alot of rain. I only can hope this all works out. The water pours directly out of the ground here. We finally dried out this past week and I can't believe when they dug the holes yesterday, no water.

The rain this year has caused my build to be delayed for a couple months, just as the ground dries up, we get another down pour. Hope you have better luck with your build.

A trailer load of wood showed up today. Inspector looked at the concrete poured for the post's and tomorrow starts the framing .

Finally making some progress. Yesterday while they were setting the truss's we got alot of lightning and had they had to wait an hour for it to stop. My wife isn't happy its too tall she's saying. I keep telling her its not that tall, only 13 ft walls. Next Thursday the metal arrives. Going to change the garage door height because of the 2ft overhangs. Was going with a 12ft door, now 11ft, my guy says it will look better . Having a hard deciding on what to put under the roof metal because I'm spray foaming . Either tyvek or a radiant foil

All the spray foam guys i spoke to said tyvek and send it, the foil is a waste under spray foam but theres so many opinions. I decided fiberglass tho, way cheaper! Keep pics coming looks awesome. Good feeling to see progress right

Progress is a good thing! I just keep over thinking and worry about this or that. My wife now wants bigger than 30x30 windows, so we are getting bigger windows.

Last weeks progress . Gravel is all in and up to grade and compacted. I'm pricing insulation for under the concrete for radiant heat. Also getting a quote for a wall around the left side and out back.

My spray foam guy (and the several that I spoke to during research/bids) could not agree on where open-cell and closed-cell foams should be used.... but they ALL agreed on this point: the foam should be applied straight to the metal.

I heard lots of opinions otherwise from folks who were NOT in the business, but the providers stood together in this regard.

Opinions are back and forth on this. Some companies are voiding warranty if foam is applied directly to the foam. I've got a good fried who's a home builder and he's always going to seminars to see the latest and greatest trends and he said your FU**ed now that you dont have a underlayment . I'm going to ask the spray foam guy if the atticfoil is ok for him because I really like the way that stuff keeps the heat out .

Been working 80-90 hour work weeks and had to give in and hire a plumber for the radiant heat. Three days later he shows up and 6 hours later its ready for concrete. Next Saturday the floor gets poured , then electric and garage door and finally spray foam. I'm spending more than I thought! The picture is with 1 LSI LED 8FT fixture mounted 14 ft high in the middle of the building. Going with 12 of these 19000 lumens each

Finally got the concrete poured Monday. Trying to keep it wet so it cures as best as possible. Also had a wall built so I can get proper pitch out back. We get a lot of water when it rains hard and I don't want issues.

I'm on Mudtown Rd

Cleared coated the floor with Armorpoxy SPGX. One coat and it was very easy. Me and my son did it in one hour fifteen minutes, 30x40.

Any more info on how the floor Epoxy instal went? That seems quick! Not much prep needed? I know it helps being a new floor, looking at options for my new garage.

Go over to the flooring section, I did a review on the product I used. I did etch the floor before I cleared it.

Been a slow process , but here are a few more pictures. I'm almost finished. WAY WAY over what I thought I was going to spend , but I'm only doing this once.
