Some of those SKUs don't even show up when I paste them into the HD website for my local store. And, of the items I did look up, none had the sale price in the Slickdeals link. A bust for me.

Bull, as Rick said, this is one of those times when legwork is necessary.

I plan on checking out the local store at 7:30am. I'm only going to try one store, though - not going to drive myself crazy all over the area over this.

I got the sweet Milwaukee saw for $239! I have seen them at HD for $599, then $549. In this sale, they were $299. But all the had left was the display model, and the lady said she'd knock 10% off for the display model. I pointed out that the display model, without the box that it came in, was missing the blade it was supposed to come with, and only had the cardboard blade. So she said, "ok, how about 20% off", Sold!

I also got this Dewalt set for $199, regularly $499. Nice. http://www.dewalt.com/us/products/tool_detail.asp?productID=22889

The had a really nice looking Ryobi granite topped table saw for 1/2 price too. $499 for $299. The had 2 of those left this afternoon.

New Dewalt sets near me. =(

I did see the Milwaukee M12 3/8" drill with radio for $80 and might go back for one.

If anyone buys the combo kit doesn't want the circ saw, let me know. (Edit: nevermind, the batts I have available are compact and would be a very bad match with the saw anyhow. I'll try again for a set of give up and continue waiting for a good deal.)

Thanks for posting this! I was looking for a new cordless drill.
The store by my work only had the 4 piece Dewalt left by 9am, so I called the store near my house and now have the $99 dewalt drill impact combo paid for and waiting for me to pick it up after work.

Thanks,

Chris

Glad I could help! =)

Besides, I knew I wouldn't be able to get in on the deals I wanted to, so I'm enjoying all of your successes by proxy.

I got the Milwaukee 12" sliding miter saw for $299 this morning.

I saw it and they only had the demo left, probably should have bought it. I did leave with a Milwaukee 4.5 inch grinder for 39 bucks:thumbup:

my store location had 1 of the 6pc dewalts left, 6 of the 4pc dewalts, 1 2pc dewalt xrp drill/impact ($149), 2 ryobi teks, 1 ridgid lithium ion set, and not sure about the others on that list. i only wanted to get the $99 drill/impact set.

since i was there i began to consider the 2pc drill/impact xrp dewalt set or the ridgid lithium ion set for $149. i still wasn't sold and there was 1 set w/ 5pcs. it was the 4pc dewalt xrp for $199 w/ bonus impact. i figured for $50 more why not get a 5pc set, right? well this is what i got for $189 out the door! i used a $10 off $50 card i had from lowes.

oh yeah, stuey you have a pm.

Thanks for the heads up on this deal. Picked up the M12 drill and radio combo. Some stores have the deal some don't. Anyone need a work radio?

I picked up two grinders at the York, PA HD...... One milwaukee and one rigid grinder. $39 each. the Milwaukee is nice, but only a 7amp, so I got the rigid 10amp model as well. I plan to set one up with a grinding disk and the other with a wire cup or a flapper disk.

I already have a cordless dewalt grinder at home, but it doesn't last that long.....

Thanks for the heads up Stuey. Unfortunately, here in west TX the deal did not exist, at least as far as I could tell. It wasn't an issue of being out of stock, there simply was no display, no clearance price tags, nothing....

I'm wondering if these prices were available either last week or the week prior here. In their typical end cap clearance display, there was a single Milwaukee set with the drill and radio for $79. I was also reading on slickdeals - people were posting what they bought even before today.

How did you find this deal? It wasn't on their frontpage.

Also on slickdeals, it mentions that most stores should be adjusting their prices by 1/16. So maybe you'll have better luck in a few days.

I could tell you how I found the deal, but.... lol.

I routinely check retailers and distributors for advertised and random unadvertised deals, and also check deal aggregate sites/forums such as slickdeals. Most of the time I find deals that are not posted on SD, or before they are posted on SD, but sometimes I'll find something posted there that I'm not yet aware of.

Navigate to the "hot deals" section of the forum, and then scroll all the way to the bottom. You can filter out deals by tag or category designation. "Tools" has its own category. 9 out of 10 deals are for garbage import tools that people just keep gobbling up, but occasionally there are some good finds there.

the prices should all be effective as of the 16th but stores may have it marked down as early as today. they got a markdown (md) sheet with all the discounts on dewalt, ridgid, milwaukee, ryobi, and generator items.

one store i went to had everything marked down. another did not but took the time to call the store with the markdowns.

Some stores must have updated the prices the previous day. Since this is an unadvertised clearance, managers might have the discretion to update prices early. Different Lowes locations seem to follow different clearance schedules as well. That's the only explanation that I could think of.

As for me being a deal insider, I do try!

The store I went to at 7:30am didn't even have a place for the Dewalt sets, suggesting they sold out yesterday or were set aside for employees.
