Harbor Fright getting sneaky?

Disappointing not knowing where it's made. I could have sworn I took a pic of the back of the package. Nowhere could I locate country of origin. If someone is in there tomorrow get a photo of the back of the package or I'll stop in and get it.

Harbor fright has been sneaky for at least 30 years. I believe they also claim the tools they sell are quality. I think when the Chinese did translated the word for garbage they messed up and somehow got the word quality.

If it's China I wouldn't consider it. Taiwan; depends on what it is and the price. This assortment of tools; no. I had just never noticed it before and picked it up to look and couldn't find where it was made.

If you won't buy something made in China, I wouldn't even bother walking into a HF or Walmart. Sure it is not 100% China made product, but the odds are very good that it is.

I was shopping for a cheap torque wrench to keep in my truck, so remembering that the HF pro made in Taiwan ones got decent press I went there yesterday. The torque wrench shelves were full, but on all but the 1/2” they were made in China. I dug through the shelves and found a made in Taiwan 1/4” and 1/2”, but all the 3/8” were China. I purchased two for $12 each. I’ll try another store in Phoenix for a 3/8” taiwan one.

Unless your time and travel expense have zero value you might be on a fool's errand. I'm thinking you can buy a half way decent torque wrench for the travel expense of tracking down a cheap one made in the right country.

hF does in fact sell QUALITY tools
The thing you must remember is that there are different levels and definitions of quality
Top quality
High quality
Low quality
Poor quality

They have not specified which they sell.
Frankly I think they sell all,of them. There are many things from HF that people here respect a lot. Like the 41” toolbox.
There are lots of things that are junk.....lots

Also quality is defined as the set standard. If as a company you standardize to make rusted poorly formed junk. And you meet that standard then technically you can claim that you meet the quality standard (that you set anyway)
