I agree that the fun is in the hunt but reselling is a PIA. Sorry, but I don't see a lot of value there.

Used taps, dies, drill bits, old bolts aren't worth the time to list. Ratchets might bring you $10-15/ea. (that stainless steel CM ratchet will bring more since it's scarce). Mix and match sockets won't bring much.

That Reed vise looks nice and might bring you $50-75 but shipping is a PIA.

My advice is to keep all of it.

Jay: that Reed 204.5 is maybe one of the best homeowner (and shop owner's) vise made and since yours is in great shape unless you have a better vise on your bench bolt that girl down and it will last 100 more years if you just don't use it like a press or beat on it like it's a POS.

get to know more of us and the tool guys around you and trading might be your best option, but you do have some value in your finds that is for certain.

Waltrip: I feel sorry for you that you only found a baby bullet this last weekend especially since i've only managed to find one in about 10 years of looking for them. nice find!!

ALL: I've been dealing with my TO DO LISTS, my aging parents and haven't had much time to hunt for deals and really like what some of you have found so keep up the good/great work and post lots more pictures.

That would be fewer pages, and fewer 'dreaded last posts on a page', but that view literally makes me insane, Drives! Even 50 is too many for me!

I prefer the forum default (20 per page), for a few reasons. For one thing, it's easier for me to "track" a thread that way, whether it's my thread or someone else's, and secondly, it's more conducive for my type and tempo of participation. I use subscriptions, so I always read all those first. I have a lot of subscriptions, so I don't even get to read all the new posts in every subscribed thread every time I log in, let alone reply. There are times I log in and I have an hour for in-depth replies requiring some thought, other attachments, or links to other threads, etc. And there are times I get on for only a few minutes here and there breezing through and reading and making mental notes, maybe a quick reply but often no reply.

Most of the threads are so slow it's not an issue. With faster threads, I find it much easier to find something I made a mental note to comment on when it's a page back or two pages back, then when it's in the middle of one big long seemingly never-ending page. 100 posts on this thread would be about 4 days worth of posts. I'd get lost trying to find something! With the default, the process is usually something like, 'That was yesterday, so it's one page back.'

Traditionally, in terms of pace, this thread has always been, on average, a 'Page per Day' kind of thread. In 2015 we had 359 pages, in 2016 we had 362 pages, and last year we had 337 pages. Granted, at 271 pages on Day 211, we are a little ahead of that traditional pace, but it's still pretty much about a 'Page per Day' kind of thread.

I agree with this except for the Reed vise. Different areas have different prices but I could get $200 for that vise as is providing the jaw teeth are in good shape and there isn't any damage not shown in those photos.

Well, I have been super busy but here goes my weekend report. got up Sat morning and its RAINING. Went to a MANS GARAGE sale listed near me on the way to the flea. Picked up a huge rail Road sign and a pair of Knippex pliers for $10. Got to the flea and there were actually people there. As the rain slowed to a sprinkle I started looking around and found a few small things. Thena cool old Xacto set! Went on to an Estate sale and found a tool box loaded with mainly craftsman stuff. Looking around found a box with a big set of Indestro 1/2 drive sockets and drive tools along with some 1/4". Also found a wood grained HERBRAND 3/8 set. I found the Herbrand spark plug socket and extension in different places. I knew they were around somewhere! Found a meat cleaver on the way out and he threw it in for an extra $5.

That 1164 looks like a normal sized wrench next to that behemouth round shank wrench. Nice finds.

Pics from different angles? If the bottom and opposite side are ground, I'm thinking "third jaw" for a mill vise so you can hold 2 parts for machining.

Why do that? (PITA for setup) milling groves so both have the same gaps/spacing is one reason.

KM Scott might use that to hold 2 vise jaws for cutting grooves for a one off he didn't want dedicated tooling for might be another

Its going to be a full fendered street rod. No Chop on this one. Nice stance, old style wheels, SBC, Havent chosen a color yet... here's a pic of it mocked up and as it sits now.

I finished cleaning up the 8-1/2” Utica no1950 heavy duty side cutting linemans pliers with splicing grooves, originally posted here.
I’m pretty sure the “US” stamped on the inside of one of the grips means military contract, probably WWI or interwar. Open to other theories. .

In other news, while putting them away, I found a Craftsman Button pliers I had forgotten about, and cleaned them up as well. Mystery stamp on the inside of those, too: “41AM” Hmmm, Alloy Artifacts has a very similar pair here. I have three other pliers with this grip pattern, all stamped “Craftsman Vanadium” in the same style.

Classic WWI or interwar martial stamp with those serifs.

Mystery stamp on the inside of those, too: “41AM”? “4FAM”, “4EAM”?

Probably 41AM, although I have seen 42AM, 43AM, and also AM41 and AM42, as well as single digits, such as 9AM. I'm not sure I've ever seen an explanation on AA or TA. I could be wrong about that. The numbers seem to fit the production era (i.e., 41 = 1941, 9 = 1939, etc), but not sure what the "AM" code is, mfgr, factory, something else.
