That ratchet adapter is Awesome! All of them are awesome. Lots of specials.

 thanks, yeah was impressed by. that 1” ratchet too.

Snapmom - love that offset handle, ever since you outbid me. That short 2949 is awesome too. Never seen that one.

How funny, I was just going to post my scaffold ratchets- a little bit of a progression over time. Now I see why there is no name on the handle of the oldest one, the socket is missing.

The middle three are Tubelox brand.

Also, a very non- vintage but similarly built ratchet, circa 1994. A three piece ratchet and wrench combo tool.

# 697308-1, made up of parts LH 100-1 ratchet, LH 100-2 wrench, LH 100-3 handle, LH 100-4 pinned on socket.

Edit: believe it was for helicopter work. The part # comes back to Lockheed Martin.

I know these were recently posted, but some Aircraft tool kit ratchets based off the Ferret.

How about an adjustable front end suspension tool date stamped 1964.

Can’t picture its use..

Catalog describes it as adjustable height for Ford, Mercury, Lincoln, Plymouth, Desoto, front end work on ball joints, spindles, coil springs, control arms.

3eeb,

You're cracking me up! Did you wake up this morning swing your feet out of bed and say, "I'm going to post all my Snap/on odds and ends on the GJ Snap/on thread today!"?

Good stuff, man! Lovin' it all.

I'm wondering if the AT 8XXX rats are Fairchild.

That hex drive is unique. I have some old hex drive swivels from my grandfather's days back at skil tool, but I have not seen a ratchet with a male hex like that. Very neat.

Here is a nice little brush tension scale we picked up at an estate sale. Couldn't resist polishing it, it was a bit rough when found...

Maybe just your speeder collection. I think every few pages we should all have to see the picture again. :) J/k. I enjoy seeing all the odd stuff, especially the ratchets.

That is a weird one

Yeah, it looks like two wrenches. The fact that there’s one part number is interesting.

Rag- is it the same size on each end?

Rustyz- that’s a neat piece we don’t see every day.

Did a little wheelin' and Dealin' with another GJer (Rileysan) over the weekend, getting most of this. The M4 was disintegrating, the ratchet had been ground down so the end would fit on a socket (kinda clever...) and the T handle was missing, but I had the right pieces and put it all back together. So here is Lloyds set:
nce4c1.jpg

If you look closely, you can see the triangular label on the front.
I replaced the M4 with one I had, not sure what I am going to do with the disintegrating one. I also has a 1/4 to 9/32 adaptor.
2agn85i.jpg

I also found a '30 1/2 socket

Scaffold ratchets, reminds me of my young stupid days...
I used the Tubelox and the Snappy ratchets. You could spend the better part of the day tightening clamps, both brands held up well.

Sitting in the laundry room in the basement . I dare not leave my clothes unattended (I live in an apartment building in the city).
The machines are coin operated and tamper proof so when it says "load unbalanced " you have to sit there and twiddle your thumbs until it decides everything's ok.
Half an hr after it first says "6 minutes remaining load unbalanced"
you may still be waiting.
Eff that. I just unscrew the bottom panel, manually open the door and balance everything myself...
Mv5 t-handle, tm67 ratchet adaptor, Bonney extension and a husky socket.
All old school...View media item 85499

That's the same reissue patent number that is on all their flare nut wrenches in the 30's and 40's, including wartime. I have a mess of them. It's for the teeth. Original patent (1,626,609, Gillett, Blue-Point) was granted May 3, 1927. Reissued (17,417) Aug 27, 1929. Maybe Otg or snapmom will tell us if it's on the water pump wrenches, too. I don't have one of those. By the looks of it in catalogs, the evolution of the water pump wrenches and flare nut wrenches was intertwined in the late 20's through the 30's. They made the water pump wrenches first, then made them in smaller sizes and called them flare nut wrenches. Then they lost all the fancy inlaid paneling and offered them both. Then the shanks on the flare nut wrenches went round and they still offered the old water pump wrenches. Then the water pumps were dropped.

If the double ended ratchet is from the 30s it may be for the square brake adjusting stem on the mechanical brakes. Best of my memory it was around 3/8" or slightly larger on my model A's

These are 28 to 29 date codes and still are marked pat applied for. The 1" and the 1 1/16 are longer than the 1 1/8, and the recessed logo panel is narrower. If you lay them end to end they make a pretty long wrench. Maybe yours was a custom order? Industrial? Only one I have seen like that.

As mentioned on the 2018 Garage Sale thread, I found a couple of oldies at my early bird flea market this morning.

A -> Blue-Points <- Chicago DOE wrench, No. 2225 (25/32" x 11/16"), see Pics 1, 2 & 3

...and a Snap/on Milwaukee 2502 special Buick Six wrench. See Pics 4 & 5.

Or more accurately, what's left of it! The reason it reads ROME ADIUM poking out from beneath the head (See Pic 6) is because that's not where the head is supposed to be! It's missing a good 6 or so inches of curvy offset shank after where the full CHROME VANADIUM marking was placed on the straight part of the shank. :) See catalog excerpt in Pic 7.

Credit to the former owner (both of these pieces and a whole bunch of early Bonney and Duro were in an oldtimer's box!) for saving it!

I nearly one-fell-swooped a complete set of wartime 3/8-inch drive Snap/on Ferret Flexsockets this morning at my Friday early bird flea market. These are all cadmium-plated, all "G" (1945) coded on the base, all with the "- PAT - 2196297 -" marking on the socket. Got the F-12 (3/8"), F-16 (1/2"), F-20 (5/8"), FU-22 (11/16"), and the F-24 (3/4"). Missing only the F-14 (7/16") and F-18 (9/16"), which I may have in the Snap/on orphans box down the basement.

(Anybody know why they broke the pattern and added the "U" to the model number on the FU-22?)

WFU99, WFU101 no date codes, cadmium plated. The U is odd.

I don’t know the reason for the change, but that’s how the 11/16” 12 point universal is listed in the ‘45 catalog, and it’s the only one with the U.

Right. Thanks for taking the time to include that, Don. That's what I was referring to. (Should have been clearer.) It's that way in all the cats I checked. They are all /16th increments, so it's not an off increment. It's a headscratcher. :headscrat

Maybe there was another tool with that part number, so u was added. 46 catalog shows f22a screwdriver socket.

A sloooow and incremental changeover I guess. :)

It's a sad, unfortunate side-effect of the internet, Information, and I-don't-have-time-to-spell-everything-out Age that even a contrarian like me sees "FU" and thinks other more vulgar connotations!

Got this today. I didn't see any other stamping besides patent. Any idea of age? Color inside lid looks original.
