Dr Scott, Sorry to hear about your parents. Hopefully they are on the mend.
I see it now. Agreed, jaw was cut and possibly on both sides.
On another note, my Father had a stroke and Mother had a heart attack the same day, so the last 3 months I have been pretty busy taking care of them, my jaw website is low on many jaws and my vise work has slowed down to a trickle. I am seeing light at the end of this tunnel as my father will move in with my Mother this Friday in Assisted living and I can get back to a normal life.

Then I found this guy for $100. First ever post vise for me. The price was right and I liked the condition and workings on it. Anyone familiar with the name on it (2nd pic)?

About a month ago I got this Parker 22 (3 1/2" jaw). Nice condition and it must be pretty old as it is "hole through the bench" swivel.

I would't think it would affect it being a good user though. Well done!Lastly, I got this yesterday, a 7" parker. Looks like the casting number was on its last legs, but I can faintly see a 79 and then the 1/2., and should be an X after that.
On the spreadsheet, a 7" stationary Parker, it would be either a 5 1/2X or a 79 1/2X....to me I see a "79".
Otherwise, nice little beasty, paid $140...biggest vise I hav to date at about 190-195 pounds and 7" jaw.

Wow! that Parker is awesome! In the last picture that weld you mentioned is pretty wide. I wonder if that ear behid the jaw insert broke off?I would't think it would affect it being a good user though. Well done!
Congratulations! You get to add your own vise to the spreadsheet. It's either a 79-1/2 or 79-1/2X. The difference is how they mount to the bench. Use the attached scans for reference.
I commend you for starting the vise info thread and getting KMScott to maintain it.

I passed by a yard sale last Friday that advertised a 'tool sale'. Not seeing that as the headline very often, I was sure to stop. Looked like mostly antique hand tools and some random vintage type power tools.
I asked about hand tools like wrenches, sockets, ratchets and they said there were none to be had but they proceeded to lead me to the back of the garage. As an aside, there were some hand tools and I bought a large bin of sockets and ratchets for $10, but there on the bench was a 4" Columbian HDWE Co. vise. I asked how much... '$15, but you have to take it off'.
Having just bought some wrenches and such, I had it off in moments and was on my way.
Looks like a NO 504 M. It's been used hard, but no cracks. Still has a bunch of living to do.
Does this price seems reasonable for a Bullet vise?

$220
400N machinist vise, 4" jaw width, used but in working condition, see pictures.
After much debate, my new Wilton 1755 for $118 delivered, with Wilton's Magnefix aluminum guards.
That's my kind of yard sale!---No dishes, no clothes.---Just rust.![]()
Ridge Tool 61 CPN combination vise 6" jaws 156 lbs
Finished this craftsman today. What a mess it was. The tip of the horn was chipped and used some JB Weld to fill it in. I never used it before-it turned out okay. The vise looks better than what the pic looks like. Poor lighting, it is actually a light blue.
Picked this up on Friday. It's a Wilton 950. It's missing the little T bar handles for tightening the swivel operation. The jaws also need to be replaced as they are pretty worn (no serrated teeth left really).
I paid $75, not sure if that's a great deal, but I plan on keeping it anywho. I'd like to refurb it a little with some new paint.

I'm not sure I've ever wanted to attend a yard sale so bad in my life!
Too bad it's 2676 miles away.
