View media item 85974Some USA made good deals to fill in the blanks. You don't realize you don't have a 24mm wrench till you need one! These match the Craftsman Industrial 10pc set many of us got last year when Sears Partsdirect dumped them cheap. The adjustable wrench will live with my welder.

Humble Mechanic recommended those on YouTube so I ordered it a few days ago.
I like it a lot. It will be very useful when having to remove bolts in tight places.

Here are some more pics. When I set them up at work, I'll update it again. The magnets are super strong and you will need the provided lifter to lift the rail.

The DeWALT knives look good.
Who is selling them at that price ?
They were in the bargain section at the front of my Tractor Supply. For $11 I was in for one. Can never have enough of the damn things.

I'm most impressed with the carbide blades. I don't know about 10x longer but I've been doing a bit of work on the roof with it and I can say I normally would have had change/flip a blade once if not twice by now. Now where do I get carbide hook blades?

Well I had this since April but finally finished restoring it to useful state. Ammco 4000 Brake Lathe and wheeled and dealed to get the double wide bench. The bench was completely dissembled and restored.

Is matco really reselling that kit for 150? **** like that pisses me off, hopefully people do their research and buy elsewhere unless they like their mac rep that much...

Anyways! I've used my GW serp kit like 4 times now, well worth the 40 dollars :D

I'm at a Dodge dealer & this works better on a 6.7 Cummins better than the factory tool

Cincinnati Tool 4 inch C-clamp and Swiss Made Brown & Sharpe 1" micrometer. Flea market: $19.50

I love good drop forged American-made C clamps that have a straight screw and nothing bent I will usually grab them when I see them. This is my first micrometer I have primarily used digital calipers. I was under the impression micrometers are expensive. My next one will be metric. Although I can convert with this one. 9db877f1d0341182966ae1cfb9dc1d65.jpg

I've bought a few like the one pictured from eBay. They generally go for $10-$20 including shipping. With the advent of digital micrometers, I think they've lost popularity. I love the simplicity though. 50 years from now, good luck finding batteries for the digital micrometers. Meanwhile, these will still be working 100 years from now with enough care.

I just tested it on a 5 mm spacer I came up with 197 thousandths. Converts to 5.0038mm. I love it, now I got to have a metric version. I work for a Japanese owned company and it is strictly metric.

The guys in the shop at work With machine & tooling background all have micrometers like this one. Not digital. They have starrett stuff. They are Starrett Enthusiasts you might say.

You’re better off with central micrometers (old school) over starrett. I’ve had both when I blueprinted engines and the centrals are far more accurate when you’re looking to measure down to one or two thousandths.

Needed the Hackzall and jumped on the BOGO free offer. Homeless despot ran out of the skillsaws, so I opted for the 90 degree drill. Pretty awesome deal! :) Used the saw as soon as I got home. Had to trim the torsion bar on my garage opener to install a Listmaster 8500, and used to trim a plum tree. Very handly little tool!

WTF are you talking about? At work, we use starrett equipment to measure parts with tolerances in the tenths daily. We have literally thousands of calibration certifications for Starret tools from NADCAP labs.

Agreed, I work in a calibration laboratory, (ourselves and labs like ours, quite literally set the standards for measuring), and with the exception of digital calipers, mechanical measuring equipment is all Starrett for its precision and repeatability. They are verified annually from an outside source, and when necessary, are referenced on our certifications. NIST, NVLAP, ILAC, ISO, ASTM, etc accredited lab.

Have you noticed newer starrett calipers jaws being soft and wearing out? I was researching to buy both inch and mm calipers, and alot said stay away from starrett cause soft jaws wearing out. Ever seen that? Ended up with B&S.

I don’t really need a 24” pipe wrench, but for $5 I couldn’t pass it up. Looks to be a little older model Rigid.

If you soak them in white vinegar for 24 hours and rinse them with water while scrubbing the flaking rust off with a toothbrush you will remove all the rust. After you can paint or oil them and they will be like new [emoji846][emoji106]
