Neat old wrench but I'm not sure it's for a Cadillac automobile - I seem to remember reading here in the past that they were made by a different company that just happened to have the same name. You may be able to find something through the search function.

Looks like the Cadillac auto logo from the 1910 era.

Cars designed ny Henry Ford, parts cast by Dodge Bros and sold by a luxury brand.

Nothing has changed.

Didn't anyone else start humming the Bruce Springsteen song when they saw this thread title?

Made by Dodge Mfg. Co.
What is your source for that Diamond-D logo being Dodge Manufacturing Company?

I never heard of Dodge mfg. before.
I did (but only because I confused them with Dodge Brothers once), but I didn't know they made wrenches, let alone wrenches for the automotive industry.

Dodge Manufacturing was a completely different outfit first made their name in factory equipment. Kansas, if I am remembering correctly. Or somewhere in the Midwest. EDIT: Indiana, not Kansas. And power transmission equipment, not factory equipment. Link here.

Didn't the Dodge Brothers make their fortune selling parts to Henry Ford?
That's an understatement. Before the struck out on their own, they had a stake in Ford and made everything but the seats. But as far as I know, they didn't make any tools, and HeelSpur is referring to Dodge Mfg Co. (I can see that Gmonkee may have just been making a completely separate comment, not confusing Dodge Brothers with Dodge Mfgf Co at all.)

Henry was chief designer at Cadillac the early years. He had differences along the way and made his own car company. Dodge Bros made castings like axles and engine blocks for nearly everyone to their specs.
The earliest vehicle Dodge Bros made in quantity was trucks for the WW1 war effort and noted for reliability over the Ford T. Also used very widely as ambulances and scout cars.
Henry got miffed his foundry was competeing and by 1916 was making his own axles and engines in house. Dodge Bros continued to make cars a bit better than the Ford but always more costly.
That price difference kept Ford sales well over all others.

Dodge Mfg. Co. of Mishawaka, Indiana
Source: Early 1900's Dodge Mfg. Co. Catalog.
Found on a silo type wrench probably made to use on Dodge Mfg. Co. pulley bolts, shaft couplings, etc.

Wasn’t he basically kicked out by the majority owner who was a Michigan lumber baron?

The sources I learned from were from the Ford camps and not the Caddy side. I never read of the details of it.
Henry was notorious for not sharing the profits with anyone to the point of great lakes ships and his own railroad to get materials to his factories.

He could steal your thunder but you dare not steal his.

I'm thinking that Heelspur's wrench may not for the hub caps.....

On early fixed head engines a screwed cap covered each valve, one housed the spark plug and the other often a priming tap.

Both were removed to perform valve grinds.

Here is a couple of Cadillac wrenches. Note at least three different marking styles.
The raised script is not very distinct. The diamond logo is too hard for these old eyes to make out, but it looks almost like a diamond H.

The stamped script surely is a Williams product.

And also see the depressed text logo.

Anyone know if these different logos imply year of useage?
