No pic but you can google it. A cart where acetylene tank is in the front and oxygen sets directly behind it. Tanks are inline instead of side by side. Great for a space saver.

Side by side carts "always" get hung up in narrow places, I have been threatening to replace mine almost since the day I built it, nearly fifty years ago, but it works, and I hate doing things twice.

We won't be hiring you at The Do and Re-Do Garage!

I do a lot of it twice. It's a,way to get it right. I like side by side with 4 wheels.

You're hired!!! Plan and then re-plan your trip.

I'm leaning towards the bottles inline style, but your casters gave me an idea for a 3 wheel inline cart, thanx!

lilredex, I really like your cart! I may do a copy but use two casters where you have the front stand.
However the way you posted your link sent me to another thread thunders had started about torch sets. I didn't realize I'd been linked to a different thread and couldn't figure why all the posts where about yea or nay on propane vs acetylene or what torches to buy. Really had me cornfused until I went back to the first post and realized I was now on a different thread :headscrat:wtf::(:lol_hitti A true senior moment!!!

make it so you can swap the Oxy bottle without having to remove both bottles I.e. if you make it tandem instead of side by side make it so you load one from the back and the other from the front.

There are different ways of using a torch for sure, some of them find a "home" some rove from base camp. Using plasma for fabrication and some demolition changed use a lot. I used to have an acety and LP each on 100 ft hoses to a bottle station. It worked ok at the time. Now I am back on a cart with 1 fuel gas and shorter hoses. I move the bottles when I need them.
I can drive up to most hop work but if a guy has something outside or awkward its nice to have some hose to get around. I find a length I can live with all the time.
I got some lead for the stinger of my Maxstar too. While its light I am used to having extra lead on projects to jump around.

I got it done a couple of weeks ago but I'm just getting around to posting up some pics. Now I gotta say I really like looking at all the tool restoration and super shop threads on here with all the painted and polished accouterments. But I hate painting anything, I just want to get it done and start using it. Just my style.

My next one will be moved with a 2 wheel cart as most of my torch use is within hose length(25’) from the cylinders.

Looks good.. but am I wrongfully concerned that a relatively thin wall tank of propane in immediate vicinity of welder, and it's whip gun, etc, .. could be a major hazard?

Let alone if near a stick welder w always hot stick being moved and walked around with it..

Just makes me feel very un easy.

Evolvo - I cannot tell from photo.. but I hope the two large wheels are NOT swivel base.. to keep your C of G footprint consistently wide . hence most stable.

That Saf t cart best feature is not only it's narrow width, but the orientation of the tanks.. make it more stable in both axis.

I really like ALL swivel casters on all shop tool bases, but then I make sure they are set still wide enough with the wheels in ALL possible orientations.

Marc, the two large wheels are non swivel, the only two in my shop. Like you said I like to have all my movable equipment with all swivel casters. I made an exception for this one. Thanx for your concern

The only situation "Fixed" casters give benefit.. is if you are wheeling LONG distances straight, like down a lonngggg hallway.

In most shop use, meaning tight quarters, NOT LONGGGGG hallways... things benefit from ALL casters being swivel.. BUT... BUT... as long as the varying C of G footprint is totally considered in the design... so overall stability is not impared.

Pretty darn basic... but many do not seem to consider that major point.

Nice cart. I can't tell from the photos, what locates the bottom of the bottles?

Nothing. In the pics the TIG gas bottle was not in place yet, with all four bottles in, there is no room for them to move. There is a lip around the bottom shelf that keeps them in though.

2 wheels and 2 swivel casters. 4 wheel casters are a pain to roll straight.

I'll assume you meant 4 swivel casters are a pain to roll straight, which is kinda true. But two swivel and two non swivel have to be "parked" against a wall or in a corner like parking a car, whereas with 4 swivels you can push it any directions you choose (with a little effort)!
