Ok, so my husband and I are new to garage floor finishing world. We have new construction concrete being poured in the next week or so. We live in Wisconsin so there will be snow/salt and the garage will get some sun exposure. We will have a 1200 sq foot garage and a 200 sq foot screened in porch that we are considering putting a finish product on.

The garage will not be used for any type of mechanical work but we do have a four wheeler, riding lawn mower, mini motorbike and 2 vehicles. We also have two children that will be in and out a lot with their bikes, toys, etc.

We are concerned about keeping the dust down, protecting the concrete from damage/elements, (somewhat) the look of it, ease of application, longevity of the product and the budget. We do not what it to be slippery. We are open to a paint, sealer, epoxy, etc or a mat/tile, etc.

Is there any product that first comes to mind that you'd recommend for us? We have asked many people we know and we haven't found any that have used any products that we've found when researching.

Any advice is appreciated!

No matter what you chose, you'll need to wait a few months before you apply anything to the new floor.

I went with Rust Bullet for concrete. I haven't applied it yet, so I can't give you a personal opinion.

Based on other reviews it won me over. It's cheaper than a lot of the alternatives, but has a reputation for being very durable.

It really depends. Would love to talk more about the look you are trying to achieve. For the patio I would do a simple desnifier / sealer like LS 9500 from Ghostshield.

For the garage their are a world of options:

Densifier and Oil Resistant Sealer (4500/8510)
Polyurea
Epoxy
WB Epoxy would be a good budget product
Two coats of clear polyurea
Garage Floor tiles would be quick and easy

Lots of options.

Our two most popular products for your application would be our www.armorcladepoxy.com 100% solids epoxy system and our SPGX one-part polyurea. We have many thousands of satisfied customers in Wisconsin!
