storing tools in pickle bucket

I got some 5 gallon buckets from a sub store (used to hold pickle). I can still smell pickle (or acid). If I keep tools in the buckets, do you think acid will permeate out and rust the tools? I may be over-concerned but the tools will sit in the bucket for a few months until upcoming move is complete. Thank you.

I can't really see the (HDPE?) bucket absorbing much acid. I guess if you're concerned you could fill the bucket with water and a base for a few days (soda, lime, something like that), I'd imagine that would neutralize anything left.

Guess you could line the bucket with a trashbag or something not super permeable also.

Not sure where your at, but if I were to do that here I'd throw in some desiccant just in case.
