This store is on the list to close by December. The time frame was given to me by an employee.

I stopped by there today and the big "store closing / 10 - 30% off" banners are already in the windows and hanging from the ceiling.

30% off of lawn mower parts & accessories.
15% off the upright vacuums.
5--10--20% tools. The tool sets were 10% off and the singles were 20%

All the shelves are still pretty stocked.

I stopped in there myself today and was very disappointed by their "everything must go, nothing held back" sale. I managed to bump in to the guy they brought in from corporate to manage the closing and flat out asked him when things would actually go on a real sale and he gave me the usual "it's a long slow process and each week the percentages will go up until everything in the store is marked down to 95% off and sold but you have to ask yourself are you willing to let somebody buy the thing you want over a few extra dollars today versus it being gone next week?". He then stated that November 25 is D day followed up by "in my 20 years of doing this I can tell you the best the deals will get on the tools is going to be 50% off..." I was standing in the tool department when we had our conversation. I explained that until any of the tools were at least half off they were still more expensive than what I can buy them online for and that's when he got a phone call that he loudly boasted to whoever was on the other end that he was "in the facility trying to get this done as quick as possible so I can get us both a nice big bonus for this one" and that's when I left the store. The store was still fully stocked as if it was business as usual and there were only a few people in there. I'll still stop back each week and see if there is anything worth buying but for now I wouldn't waste my time if you're local.

Most closing sales for any store are a waste of gas. These distressed companies usually do better deals before they go defunct as they try to drum up sales.

They mark up the price at liquidation sales to such ridiculous level and people pretty much buy out the store at these marked up prices thinking it's a deal.

I think the small hand boxes are 25% off and the large ones are individually marked down. I wasn't looking too closely at them.

From what I was told by my favorite Eastern European tool girl, prices will hold at 30% for two weeks an then the 50% discounts should start showing up. Prices are changed Thursday night after closing.

This is happening in other Sears as well. I went to the Columbia MD store yesterday which is closing after Christmas. I was not overly impressed. Most of the tools i was interested in were 10% off from prices that seem like they were jacked up a bit. Of course I had to buy something if not for old times sake.

I got a 10 " long nose pliers. Nice tool. Maybe $14 I think.

Yes the prices are higher in the the (Fair Oaks) store than online. The sale signs will say 30-60% off, but really it's just the online price. I went last weekend and picked up some USA-made stuff (level, tape measure, comfort grip screwdrivers) at reasonable prices, about $30-40 total, but was not blown away considering all the red signs advertising "60%" price reductions. A lot of stuff had no prices or anything marked.

Still, I might stop by Friday to pick the bones again.

They are down to one isle now. Half is the single sockets, wrenches, screwdrivers. The other half is misc small stuff.

Managed to pick up a 3/4 drive USA ratchet they "found" in the back for $18.

2018-11-23 Stopped by one last time. The store officially closes on Sunday November 25th.

The tools just about gone. The last remnants are mixed in with the lawn & garden stuff up by the main checkout. What's left are a few screwdrivers, wrenches, some garage door openers, lawn mower wheels, and a few shop vac filters.
